Apple will once again rely on Samsung to make displays for the iPad mini Retina

Apple would trust again at Samsung to manufacture displays for their iPad mini Retina starting in the second half of 2014. Both companies had recently halted their cooperation in the early days of the iPad as a result of the legal battle in which they have been involved. The waters return to their course and the two giants find spaces for cooperation.

Let's not forget that Samsung has many divisions that operate quite independently and as a component manufacturer they also have to perform.

This would join other companies such as LG, SHARP and AUO that provide panels to create the iPad. Specifically the Koreans they will take the load that until now was carrying AUO, since from now on they will focus mainly on the iPhone.

As well will take a good part of SHARP's orders, which means that the IGZO type panels will disappear.

Before the second generation of Apple's small tablet was released, it was already rumored that maybe they were going to have to rely on Samsung for the panels. Until now, that prediction had not come true, but now the time has come.

From this news we deduce that those of Cupertino will give continuity to this second generation in the second half of 2014. It makes little sense for a company like Samsung to be involved in manufacturing for three or four months.

One possibility is that it will become the cheap option in this format, by the time a third generation arrives that can put better specs on the table. One very much option would be that there would be no new iPad mini in 2014, something highly unlikely due to Apple's product cycles.

Collaboration with Samsung could be bigger

Also from Korea come rumors that Samsung will manufacture the A8 chip, repeating again as every year to power Apple mobile devices. Last year with the A7 it was rumored that the manufacturer could be another, but that information was immediately answered.
