Firefox OS smartphones

Mozilla has unveiled its first mobiles with your Firefox OS operating system and curiously they are designed by the Spanish company Geeksphone. We still do not know anything about tablets with this OS but it is significant to see that the ability to release devices with the soul of Mozilla is already a reality. The phones presented are not high-end in terms of specifications, but the idea is to suppose a real alternative and they have chosen to build it from below by making cheap devices.

The least gifted is called Keon and it will have a 3,5 inch HVGA screen. It will have a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 1 GHz of power accompanied by 512 Mb of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory and 3 MPX rear camera. Its battery will be 1580 mAh.

The most advanced model will be called Peak. It will have a 4,3-inch screen with HD resolution. This time we will have a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1,2 GHz dual-core. We will again have 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. This time we will have two cameras. A rear 8 MPX with LED flash and a front 2 MPX. To use both, we will have a trigger. The battery shoots up to 1800 mAh.

Both will have UMTS, HSPA, GSM and EDGE connectivity, in addition to 802N WiFi. To expand their memory they will have a card slot microSD. How sensors will mount GPS, proximity and light.

The Spanish firm is in this entire process since the telephones will be launched by the operator Telefónica in the future. For now, the Spanish company, which was involved in this project from the beginning, will make these terminals available to developers so that they can generate applications. After this endowment phase, it plans to make the first commercial launch of these devices in Brazil with low prices of less than 100 dollars and, if this first step is positive, then continue with other countries. Other world operators have been interested in the project and support Mozilla, but the most determined has been the Spanish company.
