The autonomy of the iPad mini 3 also worsens compared to the iPad mini 2

It seems that the iPad mini 3 takes all the way to become one of the iDevices most criticized and the truth is that there is no lack of reasons for this, and it is no longer just a lack of innovation, but it is even detecting a worse performance in independent analyzes, as is the case in this case with some of the first autonomy tests to which it has been subjected. We give you the results.

We have already commented on other occasions that It's hard to think of the iPad min 3 as a new model, taking into account the very little news that it introduces and that could be reduced to three until today: the Touch ID, the gold color and the absence of a 32 GB model. It seems, however, that we can already add a fourth difference with respect to the iPad miniRetina: less autonomy.

Less than 7 hours of autonomy for iPad mini 3

The test comes from the same medium that hours before gave us the results of the iPad Air 2 autonomy tests and it is done in the same way, with a script that allows the simulation of different activities that we do on a daily basis with our tablets. The results are also similar to those obtained by the successor to iPad Air, with a significantly less autonomy than that of its predecessor, but in this case, it is much more complicated to venture an explanation, since the iPad mini Retina and iPad mini 3 hardware is virtually identical, with the aforementioned difference of the incorporation of the touch ID.

iPad mini 3 autonomy

And yet the difference is there and it is even wider than between the 9.7-inch tablets: 8 28 hours and minutes for last year's model and 6 53 hours and minutes for this year. The decrease in this case, however, is so great that it also loses positions with respect to other tablets, lagging behind not only the Nexus 7 2013 (106 minutes less), but also from the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (11 minutes less).

What do you think of what you have seen so far of the iPad mini 3? Don't you think that maybe after all Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), should I have continued working on it until 2015?
