The curiosities behind the accessories of the Galaxy Tab S

Galaxy Tab S 10.5

Last June, Samsung presented its new tablets in New York, the spectacular Galaxy Tab S with fingerprint reader, the best screen on the market and many other outstanding features. An aspect that sometimes goes unnoticed but is very important for consumers (and the company's income) are the accessories. This time there were three add-ons announced by Samsung, and their development has interesting things to tell.

Normally the development of a high-performance device such as the Galaxy Tab S takes place for a long time in which anecdotes are inevitable, the curiosities that influence some aspects of the final product. Most of the time they are not made public and remain in the privacy of the company, but sometimes, for whatever reason, some of these stories come to light and allow us to better understand the reason for certain decisions, also in accessories, which in recent years have gained importance within this creation phase.

Book Cover Positions

The main difference between the Book Cover and the Simple Cover, the two official covers presented for the Galaxy Tab S is that the first one allows the tablet to be placed in three different positions: Viewing, touch and typing mode. The angles chosen for each position were not chosen at random, but were the result of a study in which they insistently searched the best angle for every situation. As they say, it was the most difficult part of the design, especially the viewing mode, since they could not see it clearly when the device was held with their hands and not on a table.

Closing the Bluetooth keyboard

El extremely slim design of the Galaxy Tab S made the developers consider this tablet as a classic wallet of those that are carried in the hand, and therefore, the keyboard could not be left free, it had to be joined in some way. The solution, as many of you will know, was to place a closure similar to that of these accessories with a small hinge that prevents it from peeling off.

Keyboard color

The Bluetooh keyboard of the Galaxy Tab S is available in two colors: white and bronze. With these two options they wanted to keep the elegant and premium essence that they had given to the device. Even so, it was not worth any tonality, they explain, that the option "titanium bronze" is inspired by the colors of a sunset. They looked for a spray mix that represented exactly that peculiar moment of the day and the result was worth it.
