Tizen will arrive this year from the hand of Samsung, Huawei and Orange

The MWC is serving as a platform to learn about some of the alternatives to Android, iOS o Windows 8 /Phone that will hit the market in the coming months. If shortly before the Barcelona event begins, Ubuntu announced its software for tablets, during the days of the Mobile World Congress we have been able to know what will be the first steps of Firefox OS in the market. Now we also know something more about Tizen, a system that has great support from Samsung and several operators. We show it to you on video.

For the unfamiliar, Tizen collects the witness of other projects that, although they reached some relevance in their day, did not come to fruition, such as MeeGo o Bada. However, it has some peculiarity that makes it different from the others, such as the support of the powerful firm Samsung, Intel  and a large number of mobile phone operators among which are Vodafone, Orange, Sprint o NTT DoCoMo.

Tizen is based on several open standards, it is developed from the core of Linux and run native apps on HTML 5. These aspects report interoperability and versatility, on the one hand, and on the other, they facilitate the process of porting apps from Android.

Unlike Firefox OS and despite the apparent simplicity of its latest installment, 2.0, this system is designed for high-end devices. At least, the test version that we have seen at the MWC ran on a terminal with a dual-core processor and a 720p resolution screen. Although it is not a completely cutting-edge device, it is far from the standard of the phones that we have seen with the operating system of Mozilla.

Moment Samsung y Huawei they already prepare several teams with Tizen to be released throughout this 2013. Probably, Orange be the operator that opens with them and France the first country to pick them up. The rest of the world will have to wait until 2014, almost certainly. However, the test version that has circulated at the Barcelona event has only made it clear that there is still a lot of work to be done, despite the fact that the system is already pointing out ways, and leaving everything polished can still be a period five or six months.
