If last year marked the entry of some large manufacturers into the market for low-cost tablets, it seems that this year we will be able to see some of them go even further in the price's drop, with projects such as the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite de Samsung and this new Acer Tab 7, which would be sold for only U.S. dollar 99.
Although it hasn't even been a couple of weeks since Acer presented the new generation of its two most popular low-cost tablets, the new Iconia A1-830 and Iconia B1-720, news has already arrived of a new device with an even lower price: the Acer Tab 7 that could be sold for only U.S. dollar 99.
Good features for its price
If we take into account that the price of this tablet would be around 100 dollars, its Technical specifications, although modest, they seem quite reasonable and sufficient for a not too intensive user: the screen is of 7 inches and has a resolution of 600 x 1024, has a dual-core processor 1,5 GHz, with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of storage capacity (in addition to having a card slot micro-SD), with a rear camera of 1,9 MP and with a battery of 3000 mAh. As an operating system, it looks like it will have 4.2 Android Jelly Bean and it would be quite light (less than 300 grams), and although it is not too fine, it is not too out of the ordinary (9,9 mm).
It has already started to be sold in China
This new low-cost tablet of the Taiwanese has already started to be sold in Asia, in China more specifically, and, unfortunately, there is no information yet about its arrival in other markets and the date on which it could take place. It seems quite probable, in any case, that as soon as the "threat" of the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is completed, we will have more news of other ultra low-cost tablets from other manufacturers.
