A Volvo video and a Mercedes-Benz video to see Apple's CarPlay in action

CarPlay video

Apple CarPlay is one of the tech news of the week. The system for connecting iPhone to cars has been shown during the Geneva Motor Show and it was explained how it would be implemented in the different brands with which the Cupertino have an agreement. Two of those who will start selling models with this technology have seen fit to teach us how they will work on video.

As we told you yesterday, Ferrari, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz will be the first to mount CarPlay systems in their cars, with many other brands joining later. These last two have shown us on video what the experience will be like.

CarPlay is made up of a lightning connector that comes out of our car and a touch screen on the dashboard that becomes our iOS interface, along with the speakers so Siri's voice comes out and the microphone that picks up our voice. These would be the key elements, but they must be combined.

In the case of Volvo, it is more of an advertisement than anything else, but we can see how we can interact with the system in a tactile way with the tablet screen you will have on the dashboard. In this sense, we will simply have an interface larger than that of the iPhone with which to interact.

In that of the German brand we have a long explanatory tutorial on how we will use and install this system. First, it teaches us the obviousness of how to connect the iPhone to the Lightning cable. But later, they make us a repetitive demo de voice commands for calls, messages and navigation. Although, it is seen that it will also have a kind of control in the rest area near the gearbox to be able to operate the dashboard screen without having to touch it.

What do you think? Isn't it the closest thing to having an iPad in your car?
