A few days ago, the Taiwanese company Acer launched a new model in its range of Android tablets. The Iconia A1-810 is presented in format and aesthetics as a version with the Google operating system of the successful iPad mini, Apple's small tablet with iOS operating system. This comparison comes from what we can observe from the outside, however, when we have to measure it in its possibilities in stores, it will become one more model of the large low-cost offer of small android tablets. In that spectrum, there is a clear dominant against which all similar tablets have to be measured. We do it for you. Here goes one comparison between Acer Iconia A1-8100 and Nexus 7.
Screen
In resolution the American tablet clearly wins. It is difficult to understand the decision of the Asians in this regard. On the contrary, the format and a larger size could be an attraction for some. The wider width of its 4: 3 screen is comfortable for web browsing.
Design, size and weight
Acer has tried to make a tablet very similar to the iPad mini on the outside even if it exceeds a bit in size. Google's is a less bulky tablet and also lighter.
Performance
El Nvidia's Tegra 3 is superior to the MediaTek MT8125, especially in graphic management. The Iconia starts from the beginning with the Android 4.2 operating system, the same version as its rival, so in simple tasks we would not notice the difference. In demanding games and applications, yes.
Storage
I won't tire of saying it: any tablet with SD card slot it does a lot of damage to the Nexus 7. This one has it and therefore here it is above.
Connectivity
The possibility of choosing a 3G model will be present on both tablets. However, Nexus 7 has NFC, something that we will not use almost anywhere in Spain in the coming years, but there it is. For the rest, they are very on par except in one thing in favor of the Taiwanese and that is that at home we will be able to make use of their HDMI connection that will allow us to move your image to a larger screen.
Cameras and sound
The rear camera of the Taiwanese makes the difference in this regard. Tablets may not be the most comfortable device for photographic practice, but there are consumers who value it.
Autonomy
Nexus 7 has more battery, although it also has more processor power and more definition on its screen. The autonomy should not be very different, perhaps with one more point in that of Google.
Prices and conclusions
The price that Acer has chosen for its tablet is really interesting. With only 169 euros, we can think of it as a real option to the American tablet. The factors that can lead us to lean towards it are the following.
We like the 4: 3 format better and want a bigger screen. We want to have our files in our possession and not in the cloud, for this the SD is essential. We would like to be able to take good photos with a rear camera. We want to use as a player connected to the television and for this we need the HDMI.
For consumers looking to view their own videos, photos, and easily surf the web, it can be a great buy when it goes on sale in June. Those who prefer a graphically more powerful tablet with priority on software updates, Google's should be your option.

I think that cameras are quite essential in any mobile device since augmented reality programs need them.
Apart from the price, the Asus one is more striking. Tablets with mediatek processors should not exceed 100 euros and in the case of Acer, with its poor characteristics that is the price that should be around since there are others for similar prices much better. .
