Earlier this year, Adobe released a version of its photo retouching program Adobe Lightroom for Android smartphones. This application, which can be downloaded for free on Google Play, includes some functions that allow you to modify the images captured with the phone. It was a bit strange that the application was not also compatible with tablets, since thanks to a larger screen they offer a more suitable workspace for these types of tools. With the new update, this ends, since among other novelties it includes support for Android tablets.
Adobe Lightroom is included within the Creative Cloud suite, and it is as we said, one of the best photo editing programs available. For quite some time, there is an application for iPhone and iPad with some functions, most of them basic, with which it is possible to modify certain parameters and instantly retouch the photographs taken with mobile devices, which are then synchronized with all the computers on which the program is installed.
The Android app released earlier this year is broadly the same. Although Adobe Lightroom is a powerful photo editing tool, the mobile versions do not include all the options, something typical of professional tools that make the leap to smartphones and tablets. These features are maintained with the new update (version 1.1) that includes support for Android tablets as well as two other new features that we can also consider important.
The first of them, microSD card compatibility, essential for smartphones and tablets that do not have large internal storage capacities and require a microSD. The second, Adobe Lightroom for Android incorporates the RAW format to the list of supported formats. It is not a casual improvement, and it is that Android, since the arrival of Lollipop, allows taking photos in this format.
