Ainol Novo 9 Spark is another bet with a Retina screen at a low price

Ainol Novo 9 Sparks

For a week, Ainol has been selling a new tablet from the Novo range with a 9,7-inch screen format. Is named Ainol Novo 9 Spark and it has some technical specifications that are really good. As always the price is hard to believe, but there we have it. We are going to offer you an analysis of their conditions and show a video of your unboxing and how is it subjected to various benchmark tests.

Both the design and the marketing of this tablet suggest that they want to take advantage of the pull of the iPad and its retina display. This same marketing concept created by Steve Jobs is used to refer to the pixel density resulting from 9,7 inches diagonal screen combined with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The result are 264 ppi, just like the last two generations of the Cupertino tablet. However, the operating system is Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

Ainol Novo 9 Sparks

This turn of vocabulary is not new in Ainol, they already used it with another model almost identical to the one we present today called Ainol Novo 9 FireWire. In fact they have the same price, just $239, plus shipping costs. For a moment, I thought it was a crazy thing from the communication department of the Chinese company, but then looking carefully at the details I discovered the difference. This model has a touch screen 10 point capacitive while the other is 5 points. This means that the response we are going to get from Spark is significantly higher than what we get from FireWire.

In both models it is worth highlighting something. They have a processor that we already know quite a bit about. An Alwiner A31 with a 7 GHz A1 quad-core CPU. This type of cores does not give as much performance as the A9 or ARMv7, although they consume less and heat less. However, the good graphics processor that comes with it, the 544-core PowerVR SGX8 as well as the 2GB of RAM, make a good finish.

In the video we can see that performance more than acceptable.

How can a 4-core 1Ghz tablet and 8-core GPU have a retina display and record video at 4K?
