Android 5.1 will introduce changes in the quick settings menu

So far, Google has released two Android 5.0 Lollipop updates, 5.0.1 and 5.0.2, both primarily aimed at correcting bugs that have arisen since the release of the new version of the operating system. The first big update, Android 5.1 Lollipop, as some rumors pointed out a while ago, is already on the way, it has even been slightly seen. Enough so that we know some of the changes, not very important but interesting, that it will bring when its distribution reaches the first devices.

Android 5.0.2 is today the most recent version of the Mountain View operating system, but its market share is negligible (in general, Android Lollipop is 1,6%), as it has not even reached the entire Nexus product range. The reason for this situation could be the new problems that is giving in Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. This is one of the reasons why it is believed that there will not be Android 5.0.3 but that it will jump directly to 5.1, a version that we showed you yesterday running on some Android One terminals, corroborating this idea.

Improved quick settings

The first big update will bring in addition to a good handful of patches for the detected errors, the first modifications of Lollipop. We have known that one will be focused on quick adjustments, specifically those of WiFi and Bluetooth. As many of you know, right now these two elements appear by sliding twice from the top and we can activate / deactivate by touching the icon or go to the menu to choose the network or connection by touching the name below.

This has a problem, and that is that we will have to exit the application that we are using to change the network or connection. With Android 5.1 it will not be necessary, since the name will have, as you can see in the images, an arrow that will display the nearby networks / devices available, being able to select a new one without leaving the application that we have open. It is not very important, but it does reflect Google's interest in polishing the small details, and this one in particular will be welcomed, for example, by those who change their WiFi network several times throughout the day.
