Android Marshmallow adoption barely passes 1% yet

Android versions

Despite the impatience with which we await the presentation of each new version of android, the reality is that its fans are usually forced to wait quite normally until they can finally enjoy it, unless they are users of devices Nexus or that they are lucky enough that the manufacturer is especially committed to their smartphone or tablet (and even then nothing guarantees that there will be no delays), and a good proof of this is in the evolution of the percentages of adopting Android Marshmallow that, four months later, barely exceed 1%. We show you the latest data.

Very little evolution compared to the data of the previous month

Indeed, we are not fortunate enough to be able to bring you good news regarding the evolution of the adoption of Android Marshmallow, although you probably would not expect them, since it seems that there is a good chance, in view of the data that Google just made public, that you are still waiting for your own update, since only one 1,2% of all users have it already available. Being positive, we can say at least, yes, that this is the month that this percentage has increased the most, but it has grown by half a point.

Another not very good news is that if so far at least the percentage of Android Lollipop was growing at a good pace, it seems that it is also beginning to slow down: it has already reached the 34% and is practically tied with Android KitKat (35,5%), but the percentages compared to last month have barely changed by 1 point. We hoped that we could finally announce that this month Android 5 would become the most used version, but we will have to wait at least until March to do so.

Android N already on the horizon

Overall, as you can see, the evolution has been almost nil and the next I / O will take place in about three months, where the new one will see the light Android N. We will have to wait to see where the levels of adoption of Android Marshmallow when this happens, but everything indicates that we are going to know a new version of Android when the last one is still quite a minority, even though we assume that the arrival of the new batch of flagships that will debut this February with the MWC it will do a lot to improve it.
