Apple already controls the ipad3.com domain

New iPad

After having launched the New iPad a few months ago, finally Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), already owns the domain ipad3.com. Well, it actually belongs to your intellectual property lawyers Kilpatrick Townshed & Stockton, but it will be officially transferred to Apple soon. Many of you wonder why Apple is interested in ensuring that domain if they have not called their tablet that, "iPad 3”. Well, precisely for that reason, so that no one can put into too much movement a name that they have not chosen. New iPad

At the end of last month, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), extended a petition to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in which it was asked who owned the domain ipad3.com.

The answer was a company called Global Access, located on the Isle of Man and famous for its massive domain registration. His business is to find domains that are ultimately so valuable that someone decides to pay a large sum of money to use it or simply make sure that no one uses it. These types of actions are always bordering on the limits of trademark registration.

iPad 3 domain

Global Access It did not wait for a notice from WIPO setting out the basis for resolving the dispute and decided to transfer the domain knowing the resources that Apple could use in a legal dispute. The arbitration panel that is used in these cases can take several weeks or months to resolve the situation, something that neither Apple nor Global Access wanted.

Surely Apple will use this domain to make a re-direction to the page that is hosted on the domain apple.com, because clearly they are not going to change the name of their New iPad to iPad 3.
