Once again the highest value of the euro versus dollar will again suppose a damage for users in our continent, in this case when buying applications in the Apple App Store: those of Cupertino have raised the minimal price for its apps (and with it all the other price ranges), assimilating them in principle to those used in the United States, but in practice making them more expensive in Europe.
We are already very used to the fact that the higher value of the euro versus dollar we played tricks on buyers on this side of the Atlantic, and on numerous occasions we have talked about direct conversions (1 dollar = 1 euro), which do not do justice to the exchange between currencies and that ends up assuming that we pay more than we should (or at least more than they do in the United States).
This is a problem that we have frequently witnessed when it comes to the devices themselves: in the case of the iPad miniFor example, the most affordable model costs $ 329, which would be equivalent to about 250 euros, and yet we pay 329 euros for it; the same thing happens with him Nexus 7, whose 199 dollars should translate into 152 euros and yet they do it in 199 euros.
Until not long ago, at least, we had the small consolation that in the field of applications price conversion seemed to be somewhat fairer, but Apple is progressively implementing the same policy in its App Store. Initially the minimum price of an application was $0,79, which was a fairly reasonable approximation to the minimum price of the App Store U.S (U.S. dollar 0,99).
A few months ago, however, the first step was taken to address this false equivalence 1 dollar = 1 euro, and the minimum price became $0,89. Now, finally, this project has ended and the price of $0,99 it is already official. With it they have also increased the rest of the price ranges (which will now be 1,99, 2,99, etc.). At the moment the applications with lower prices are being able to maintain it, but it is not expected that this situation will last too long.
