ASUS has prepared new surprises in the low cost in this 2014. A device with the code name of K012 that looks like a even more modest version of its 7-inch FonePad. This tablet with phone functions has had several versions since the launch in April 2013, but now it seems that the company will expand the repertoire downwards.
The record in which the equipment has appeared is TEENA, China's wireless communications certification center that is considered a counterpart to the American FCC but where we usually get more information and images.
This is the case of this model Asus K012. Apart from the photo of a conventional small-format tablet with quite thin side frames, we have a good number of specifications at our fingertips.
Its 7-inch screen has a resolution of X. It has a processor Intel Atom Z2560, with a PowerVR SGX 544 GPU with 1 GB of RAM accompanying. This is the same configuration as the last 7-inch version of this line presented (remember that we have the 6-inch with a stylus). Move Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the same as the previous one, and has an internal storage of 8 GB.
Its connectivity for WiFi 802.11 b / g / n and 3G networks. It has a 2 MPX rear camera and a 0,3 MPX front camera.
As we can see, it is a reduced version of the equipment launched in April, with a disadvantage in screen resolution and cameras. It is clearly looking to reduce its price and we would not be surprised if it was launched first in Asia.
ASUS wants to fill its low cost offer. We recently had proof of this with other certification records of three models with very similar code names: K011, K010 and K013. These had 1280 x 800 pixel display in 7, 8 and 10,1 inch sizes. However, all of them will use Android 4.4 KitKat.
