The latest revolution in the entry-level range: the best low-cost Chinese phablets

0Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 models

Last summer we brought you a selection with the best of the entry-level phablets, for those of you who are looking for a mobile with a large screen but who do not want to make an investment above 200 euros. Less than six months later, however, our top 5 has been largely obsolete, and that is since in recent months, since the Redmi Note 2 kicked off. we have attended the launch of a few chinese low-cost phablets that have changed the panorama a lot and that they leave us a spectacular features at prices hard to believe. We do a review with a few of the most interesting.

Redmi Note 2

We start with the one that, as we said, gave the starting gun, although we warn you that right now it is probably the one that has been the most behind in the race, although it is true that this has as a counterpart that it is probably the most affordable of the list. Being the furthest behind in this competition, in any case, is not saying much, anyway, and you only need to take a look at its technical specifications to get an idea of what it means that a phablet like this hardly stands out. ya: screen of 5.5 inches with resolution Full HD, processor Mediatek Helio X10, 2 GB RAM memory 16 GB storage capacity, main chamber 13 MP and front of 5 MP, and battery 3060 mAh. Believe it or not, this model can be purchased for just over 150 euros.

Redmi Note 3

The fault that the Redmi Note 2 has lost appeal is, almost in the first place, from Xiaomi, which just a few months later launched a new generation, the Redmi Note 3, with even more attractions, something that seemed already difficult to achieve. With it the price rises to around 200 euros, but in return we add to those great technical specifications some other most interesting virtues, such as a metal casing, fingerprint reader and a battery of nothing less than 4000 mAh. The autonomy of its predecessor was not brilliant, but not bad either, so if we do not mind doing without the design improvements, we can save a few euros, but if we want a device with premium finishes, it is definitely worth the extra investment. .

Meizu m1 Metal

It must be said that Xiaomi had a good motivator when it came to perfecting its already spectacular Redmi Note 2 and it was the launch by Meizu of this other jewel of the basic range called Meizu m1 Metal, which already added the metal casing and fingerprint reader to technical specifications practically identical to those of the other: the screen is of 5.5 inches and has resolution Full HD, the processor is also a Mediatek Helio X10 and they accompany you equally 2 GB of RAM memory, in the same way that its storage capacity are 16 GB and their cameras are from 13 MP the main and 5 MP the front. Even the battery capacity is similar, with 3140 mAh. Design improvements, in any case, have to be paid for as well, so its price is more in tune with that of the Redmi Note 3, around 200 euros.

Honor 5X

It wasn't just the phablet of Meizu the one that forced to step forward Xiaomi. Another phablet that we cannot fail to mention, especially now that it is about to go on sale directly in Europe, is the Honor 5X, the last major release of Huawei for its low-cost range. Like the previous ones, it comes with metal casing and with fingerprint reader and also their technical specifications are quite similar, although there are some differences: in common they have the screen of 5.5 inches with resolution Full HD, the main chamber of 13 MP and the front of 5 MP; what distinguishes it is mounting a processor Qualcomm (a Snapdragon 615, more specifically) and be available with 2 or 3 GB RAM memory. Import prices are relatively high considering that the price in China of the basic version is less than 150 euros at the exchange rate, but we hope that when it starts to sell Huawei we will have better news directly.

Lenovo K5 Note

One of the most recent additions to this spectacular top 5 has been made by Lenovo, which already had K3 Note in our previous compilation and which has now presented, within a very short time, the K4 Note y K5 Note. We are staying here for the moment with the last of them, which is another beast in terms of quality / price ratio: once we have a screen of 5.5 inches with resolution Full HD and a processor Mediatek (although this is now the Helio P10) they accompany 2 GB RAM memory, and its cameras are also 13 MP the main and 5 MP the front. And, in case anyone had any doubts, they are not lacking here or the metal casing nor fingerprint reader. In fact, it has in its favor having one of the largest capacity batteries, with 3500 mAh. Its price for China is just over 150 euros, but as it has been presented so recently we still do not have prices for imports to our country.

Elephone P9000

We end up with what is probably the least popular manufacturer on our list, but the new Elephone P9000 It certainly deserves to be included in our top 5, even though we have included it in the +1 position, as it has a slightly higher starting price than the previous ones. It must be said, however, that those euros more that it will cost us to get hold of it have their compensation, because although the screen is equally 5.5 inches and with resolution Full HD, we will have as processor a Mediatek Helio P10 and nothing less than 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage capacity. There is also an improvement for the front camera, with 8 MP, although the main one is still in the 13 MP.
