bq presents its new tablets with a quad-core processor: Edison 2 QC, Curie 2 QC and Maxwell 2 QC

Edison 2QC

At the beginning of summer we had the opportunity to meet the second generation of the most popular tablets from bq, with important improvements in various sections, but not yet with quad-core processors, a feature that, although it is not essential to obtain more than enough performance, is still welcome. Well, from now on, this small deficiency has been solved: both the Edison 2, such as the Curies 2 and Maxwell 2, now have their corresponding models with quad-core processors.

Better performance and less consumption

As we say (and as their names indicate), the new tablets are not properly a new generation, but new models intended for the most demanding in terms of performance: the new processors will have 4 9 GHz Cortex A-1,6 cores and in some models they will be accompanied by important improvements also in the section of RAM. However, we do not have to worry about a loss of autonomy in the devices, since, despite not having improvements in the capacity of the batteries, the higher consumption of the processors would be compensated by a new energy saving system introduced by bq, which automatically regulates the screen brightness.

The version with a quad-core processor for the moment will only be available with 32 GB of RAM, which will be sold for $229, although it is announced that soon the 16 GB and the model with 3G. Although the screen will remain the same (10.1 inches with resolution 1280 x 800), it would also double the RAM memory, going to have 2 GB, and we would also take it updated to Android 4.2.

Curie 2 QC

As in the case of the Edison 2QC, Curie 2 QC It will have not only an improvement in the processor section, but also in the RAM memory, which will become 2 GB. The screen (8 inches with resolution 1024 x 768) and the rest of the technical specifications will be the same, except for the corresponding update to Android 4.2. It will also be available in models with 16 y 32 GB hard disk and with 3G connection, although we do not yet have a price for any of them.

Maxwell 2QC

In the case of the tablet 7 inches, the improvement will only be of the processor, since there will be no expansion of RAM, although it will, of course, have the update to Android 4.2 operating system. The rest of the specifications would be those of the Maxwell 2Plus, so it would have a 1280 x 800 and battery of 4300 mAh. At the moment there is also no confirmation of its price
