In an interesting recent interview, the Vice President of Bq - Mundo Reader assured that they will abandon the Windows platform in their future tablets. After releasing their first device with the Microsoft OS, Tesla W8, they do not plan to expand the offer of models with this operating system in 2014. In the answers to the questions in the aforementioned interview, we know why.

Xataka Windows recently met with Antonio Quirós, Vice President and Post-Sales Director of Bq - Mundo Reader. The questions had to do with the tablet Tesla W8 recently launched and how they valued the experience from the company.

Quirós explained that they started to take out this tablet to explore the option of the Windows platform. In turn, it offered them the possibility of working with assemblers used by large companies, thanks to a Microsoft program for small manufacturers. They are all in China but there are some with more prestige than others, the most notable being Foxconn with whom they have been able to work.

In the end the difference is not so great with respect to the people with whom they usually work.

There will be no more Windows 8 tablets at the moment

As we said, the project was part of a Microsoft program. So that Bq has not been able to influence the product design too much. He has only done the quality tests and then put his mark. Thus, have been separated from a differential price, your hallmark.

On Android, they can put a lower price on their platform competitors, cutting the price in half of an equivalent device at Samsung and distancing themselves far from the prices of the iPads. In Windows, the licenses and the components are given to you and it has a fixed price that makes it impossible to differentiate yourself from the competitors.

To all this is added that distribution channels are not so happy about tablets with Windows 8, since they do not sell as well as Android or iOS.

Therefore, after doing an experiment with Tesla W8, they will not repeat with Windows for the moment.

Wow BQ the most important company in boards in the world will no longer make tablets with W8, one of the companies with the highest percentage of tablet users in the world, I think Microsoft will go bankrupt after this news

Perhaps globally it has almost no impact for Microsot. But BQ is the most important Spanish brand of tablets and it is significant that for new manufacturers or small manufacturers, it is not too beneficial to make models with Windows 8, don't you think?

The problem with windows 8 is windows 8, let me explain, a system that is made for tablets and PCs is difficult for tablet manufacturers, since for example the hp envy x2 in Mexico is worth 13 thousand pesos, with an atom processor, 2gb of ram and 64 gb of hhd, while a laptop with w8 with intel core i5, 6 of ram and 500 hhd is worth the same and of the same brand, the problem of tablets with w8 is not that they compete with android or ipad Instead, they compete with PCs, and for the same price, I'd better buy a laptop with better, better features, and you're going to say I'm crazy, but that's where Microsoft had to convince manufacturers to use windows rt, make arm tablets. much more economical or accessible, and leave windows 8 for premium tablets such as the surface pro or the dell vanue or the sony duo, with intel core processors and the price is worth it. Regarding your question, of course it is not beneficial, since people will buy better a pc with better features and with a touch screen than a laughing tablet at a high price, being realistic the tablets with windows 8 are minilaptops but with a touch screen but a an exaggerated price, and I repeat the only ones that are worth it for common use are the RT and for professional use the ones I mentioned before, greetings
