For a few days, it is already on the east market Chuwi LapBook, the first laptop from the Chinese company that uses components very similar to those of its tablets. That said, it is possible that we will find typical traits of a lightweight device, especially in the RAM and the processor, however, to sit at a table and write, with its large screen and with a classic construction of notebook, we will obtain large doses of comfort once we are in the task.
It is not the first company to do so. Days ago we were talking about EzBook 2, model in which Chuwi was probably inspired to invoice this LapBook, which used components typical of a tablet enclosed in the body of a laptop to get a really advantageous price, below even the $200. You cannot expect great performance, however, it will serve to work comfortably in exchange for a modest amount and it seems that, without a touch screen, the X5 Z8300 Intel runs a lot more fluid. For those who aspire to a little more power there is also a variant with the Z8350, somewhat more expensive, at Gearbest.
Chuwi LapBook: the best and the worst
Cris G, responsible for half TechTablets, has shot a video with the team in which in addition to taking a look at its external appearance, it offers enough content to create a first impression. The most important thing, from our point of view, is that everything works reasonably well. Keyboard and trackpad, are efficient (especially the second one), the screen manages to cancel out a lot of reflections and, as we say, the combination of the Intel ATOM X5 Z8300 and 4GB of RAM at 1066Mhz they don't do a bad job.
The worst maybe we find it in the design, all plastic, with one side screen frame thicker than the other and no key shortcuts to regulate brightness. On the other hand, the audio does not seem to be of great quality either, while on a screen non-IPShorizontal visibility angles are quite limited.
Equipment reference prices
As we say, the fundamental thing is that by $172 We can have at our disposal a laptop from a trusted company, which works correctly and even the odd one is allowed quality flash. If our budget is a little higher, the version with the Z8350, can be obtained for about $223. Of course, we have not made a meticulous sweep of all the stores in which you can buy and perhaps on the occasion of the Black Friday you find a more interesting offer.
