We look at another symptom that big manufacturers don't really know what to do with Windows RT. Dell has repeatedly reviewed the price and how to offer its only computer with this operating system. The Dell XPS 10 saw its price lowered in May in a very dramatic way and now the American web has opted for a new strategy that is to only offer it with a keyboard for $ 479.
As we said in May 2013, the tablet went from being worth $ 499 to just $ 299. In Spanish stores it meant going from 449 euros to about 299 euros.
In the american web now you can no longer buy the 32 GB model for this price, but instead the keyboard deal for $ 479. The funny thing is that we can also choose the 64 GB model for the same price. This keyboard also adds more autonomy and extra connectivity options.
A 64GB model but with LTE and keyboard jumps to $ 579. We do not have this model in Spain.
In the Spanish website we see that the price has dropped even more. We can buy the 10GB XPS 32 for 259 euros. The 64 GB model for 299 euros is out of stock and we can buy the 32 GB model with keyboard for only 379 euros.
As we can see, there are many movements and price correction for such a short time. The 64 GB model with only WiFi seems touched, given that it is being sold below its price in the US and in Spain it is not replenished. Prices have dropped a whopping 190 euros in just a few months.
The bad news is piling up for Microsoft. Dell is one of the largest computer manufacturers and you can tell they are looking for a way out. ASUS has taken the more drastic option and has stopped making Windows RT tablets. The new Surface with Snapdragon 800 and the Nokia Tablet would be the dressing for such emorrhagia.
