EA announces Heroes of Dragon Age, a new RPG for mobiles and tablets

Dragon Age iOSAndroid

The popular Bioware franchise Dragon Agewill have its own version for mobile devices, as announced this week by Electronic Arts. It is a 'spin off' of the saga that focuses its action on combats involving classic characters and different creatures taken from the Universe of this popular RPG. The game will be free, although it will have the option to make purchases within the app.

Bioware is the developer of two of the most important RPGs in recent times, the Mass Effect and Dragon Age (in its different deliveries). Of the first we already have a version for iOS and Android devices and something was missing from the second to compensate. Well, EA, distributor of both titles has announced the arrival of Heroes of Dragon Age to mobiles and tablets of various platforms.

The game is based, above all, on the strategic part and on the battles

In fact, we can already see the first trailer of the game and the approach seems clear: its mechanics will be based mainly on battles. As with the Mass Effect Infiltrator, the entire part of the conversations and the possible fiction, friendships and enmities disappear from the scene and, in this case, we are left with the creation of groups, the strategy and the turn-based fights. As we advance on the map, we will be able to improve our powers, abilities, weapons and armor. Not that it's the best part, but it's just as fun.

Heroes of Dragon Age will be free, with an in-app purchase option

It looks like EA is going to embrace the model freemium in most major releases from now on, as we told you the other day in the wake of FIFA 14. In this case, it looks like the micropayments will be used to unlock characters to add to our combat team. At trailer we can see some of the creatures of the Dragon Age universe, as well as Morrigan, the witch of the thicket that appears in the first installment of the saga.

We do not have data about the specific date of its launch but we know that it will be during the next weeks (coming weeks). We will be attentive in case more details are released.
