First impressions of the Asus Fonepad in video

Asus FonePad

One of the sung announcements of the MWC was Asus Fonepad And, indeed, as planned, yesterday the Taiwanese made their official presentation, without any great surprise as far as Technical specifications is concerned, and with much controversy (as happened with the Galaxy Note 8.0) on the usefulness (or not) of calls on a 7-inch device. We show you in video how is the new competitor of Asus for Nexus 7.

If the concept behind the phablets it was already controversial, the new Tablets de Asus y Samsung with the option to use them as phone seems to have crossed all the limits of the plausible. There is no doubt that the acceptance of smartphones with screens of 5 inches or more is on the rise, but it is not clear to what extent a 7-inch device can be used as a phone. Faced with skepticism, the Taiwanese have decided to defend and explain their idea in two promotional videos for the new phonepad, which we have already shown you this morning.

However, even for those who are not convinced about the interest of its functionality to make calls, the new compact tablet from Asus may be interesting, since the characteristics of the product seem reasonable to $219 that it will cost, although it remains to be seen to what extent it will be able to stand up to the Nexus 7. As we already told you after its presentation, the phonepad will have screen resolution 1280 x 800, processor Intel Atom Z2420, 1 GB RAM memory and, in its European version, 16 GB of storage capacity.

However, for all those who want to get an idea of what the Asus Fonepad, beyond the Technical specifications, we show you a couple of videos "Hands-on", where you can take a good look at his design and even get an idea about his picture quality, the appearance of the interface, etc. In the second video, he also appears next to the Nexus 7, being able to appreciate the great similarity in terms of physical appearance of both and verify that the only notable difference is, basically, the back, made of aluminum in the Fonepad and plastic in the Google tablet.
