You may be one of those avid shoppers that left the Spanish Play Store dry of Nexus 5 just a couple of days after its premiere. If this is the case, you will greatly value your investment and would like to be able to protect it with a cover. At the moment, there are only two possible options, the official ones, the official ones. In the Spanish Play Store neither of the two is still available, but in the American one one has already begun to be distributed, the Bumper case. El price of this official case is really high. Cost $29,99 plus shipping costs. The total is much higher than any third-party case for an Android device that we can find in accessories and technology stores.
This impression is especially acute if we pay attention to its design. We did not find anything special in a case of semi-rigid rubber with enough flexibility to be able to remove and put on without difficulties but without it being able to come off on its own.
As expected, all the connectors are respected and we found a hole to match. The idea is that the Bumper Case protects the phablet in its small lateral falls, where it suffers the most, absorbing the impact with the rubber. The screen is slightly protected with a slight bump that prevents it from scratching on flat surfaces. If it falls against a rough or embossed surface, the protection would be null.
The only peculiarity is that allows wireless charging.
We would have loved to see a crash test of the Bumper Case for Nexus 5, but that's not the case.
The other possible option that LG and Google officially offer us is the Quick Cover which is the same as the previous one but has a additional cover to protect the screen with magnetic closure to come out of hibernation. Its price will be 39,99 euros, again very high.
