El Galaxy Prime J7 puts an end to the two main shortcomings that we found in the standard model compared to the new generation of mid-range phablets, which was the metal casing and the fingerprint reader, which puts on an equal footing with respect to the Nova PlusAlthough there are still a few important design differences between the two, such as the physical home button.
Dimensions
Despite the home button the Galaxy Prime J7 it's still a fairly compact phablet, slightly smaller than the Nova Plus, in fact (15,15x7,49 inch against 15,18x7,57 inch). It is, however, somewhat thicker (8,1 mm against 7,3 mm). What we cannot confirm at the moment is whether it will also be heavier, since Samsung It has not made it official yet and we only know the Nova Plus (160 grams).

Important improvements also for the Galaxy Prime J7 in the screen section, which allow you to achieve what can almost be considered already the standard for the mid-range, with which of course it also meets the Nova Plus: screen of 5.5 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), which leaves us with a pixel density of PPI 401. It seems, yes, that now an AMOLED panel will mount an LCD.
Performance
Keeps the type well also the Galaxy Prime J7 in the performance section thanks to the push in the RAM section, with which it equals the Nova Plus (3 GB), and despite the fact that there is no news in the processor section (Exynos 7870 eight-core 1,6 GHz against Snapdragon 625 eight core to 2,0 GHz). The two also arrive with Android Marshmallow.
Storage capacity
Another point where the Galaxy Prime J7 improves enough to tie with the Nova Plus is the storage capacity: both offer us 32 GB internal memory expandable externally via micro-SD.
Cameras
As for the main camera, there have been no changes for the new phablet of Samsung And the scale tips to the side of Huawei, not only because it has more megapixels (13 MP against 16 MP), but also because it has an optical image stabilizer. For the front camera, however, we do find another draw, with 8 MP for both.
Autonomy
Here we cannot say anything definitive until we see real tests of the use of both, but for now we can anticipate that they are also quite close in terms of battery capacity (3300 mAh against 3400 mAh), which together with the characteristics of both, augurs a close battle.

At the moment the only prices we have for the Galaxy Prime J7 They are for Asia and they place it around 300 euros at the exchange rate, although it is possible that they rose when they brought it to Europe. The Nova Plus, for its part, it does already have a price for the continent and is $429.
