El Galaxy Note 3 will be arriving soon in stores and in sight of its spectacular Technical specifications and increasingly accustomed as we are to large screens, perhaps there are many of you who the new smartphone from Samsung makes you consider making the leap to phablets. In this section the differences are minimal, due to the marked family resemblance of all mobile devices of Samsungboth in materials as in design. The somewhat squarer lines of the new Galaxy Note, however, they differ slightly from the popular Galaxy S4 and others launched this year by the South Koreans.
Dimensions
Between Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 there is a notable difference in the size of the screen that obviously affects the dimensions of both devices: the Galaxy Note 3 It is longer (15,12 cm in front of 13,66 cm) and also wider (7,92 cm against 6,98cm). The difference in thickness, however, is practically negligible, with 8,2 mm for Galaxy Note 3 y 7,9 mm for Galaxy S4. The weight differences are notable, although not as marked as one might think (168 gr against 130 gr).
Screen
Except for the difference in size (5.7 inches for Galaxy Note 3 y 5 inches for Galaxy S4), what we find in this section is quite similar, both in materials (both are Super AMOLED) and in resolution (both are Full HD). The screen of the Galaxy Note 3However, it has the advantage of being PenTile AMOLED, although this does not imply any advantage in image quality, but rather in consumption (a very interesting question, in any case, given its size).
Performance
Although we are waiting for a new version of the Galaxy S4 that would match the Galaxy Note 3 In processor, at the moment the latest phablet of the South Koreans is clearly superior in this section, with a Snapdragon 800 a 2,3 GHz versus Snapdragon 600 a 1,9 GHz of the other. Anyway, even if it matched its processor, the Galaxy Note 3 would continue to have an important advantage in the RAM section, with 3 GB, in front of 2 GB of the Galaxy S4.
Storage capacity
In this matter, for those looking to have the maximum storage capacity, the tie is absolute, since both are available with up to 64 GB hard drive and have a card slot micro-SD. However, for those who do not need much space and prefer to buy a model with less capacity but cheaper, the Galaxy S4 has the advantage of being sold with 16 GB, while it seems that the model with less capacity of the Galaxy Note 3 will be 32 GB.
Battery
As we always say, we will have to wait for autonomy tests independent to assess the Galaxy Note 3 in this regard, while the Galaxy S4, which has been on the market longer, we can already say that the results of the tests are excellent. The battery capacity of the Galaxy Note 3, in any case, it is clearly higher: 3200 mAh compared to 2600 mAh. Consumption, however, is another fundamental part of the equation and it is to be expected that with a 5.7-inch screen and a Snapdragon 800 processor, that of the last phablet of Samsung be also very superior. We will have to wait to see if the PenTile screen and the rest of the measures incorporated to reduce consumption give good results.
Cameras
In principle there are no major differences in this section between the two phablets of Samsung, with front camera 2 MP and back of 13 MP in both cases. The Galaxy Note 3However, it has some interesting advantage, such as the ability to record video with resolution 4K from its rear camera.
Price
Of course, the size may be practically the only difference to take into account for many, but for those who are open to considering a larger screen, as you can see, the Technical specifications of the Galaxy Note 3 are superior to those of Galaxy S4 in several sections, although not all of them are probably of equal importance: perhaps we can dispense with 4K resolution recordings, but the processor differences, much more relevant, are also notable. Obviously, and although there is still no official confirmation of the price, it is to be expected that the difference in technical specifications will be accompanied by an important difference in cost: while the Galaxy S4 can be purchased now free for around $500, the first estimates of the price of the Galaxy Note 3 put it above the $700.
