The Galaxy Note 8.0 receives the update to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Official Galaxy Note 8.0

Good news for all the owners of an already veteran team: the Galaxy Note 8.0 Samsung has started updating to Android 4.4.2 in its WiFi and 3G version. The first (and, for now, only) compact tablet in the Note range was unveiled last year at MWC. This novelty confirms that the device still has a Korean signature, so it is still an interesting purchase option.

It is true that in its very presentation, the Galaxy Note 8.0 raised some doubts: it was a device with powerful hardware, although more typical of the previous year than of 2013 (in fact, it replicated many of the characteristics of the Galaxy S III), a bit expensive, exceeding the price of the iPad mini, whose main virtue it seemed to reside in the S-Pen. This year, the Korean firm has equipped its high-end tablets much better, however, the Note 8.0, with the passage of time, has gained in appeal.

Update via OTA or Kies

As pointed out in SamMobile, the two variants of the Galaxy Note 8.0 have started to be updated. Last week it was the 3G version and this Monday the deployment of Android 4.4.2 in the WiFi-only model started. As we say, you can check if Kitkat it is ready for your device in settings> tablet information> software update; or by launching Kies in the desktop app.

The main novelties affect the performance of the tablet, improving its response, and the autonomy, prolonging the duration. We can also perceive some other aesthetic change in the interface.

The only small Note tablet

The update certainly renews the interest of the product, especially if we take into account that, although Samsung has launched other more powerful compact tablets, they are not from its Note range, nor do they offer the advantage of S-Pen. In addition, the price of the equipment has fallen considerably from those initial 430 euros, and can now be obtained for about $250 in some online stores.

A great fraud about the update by #Samsung, it only allowed updating to #jellybean 4.2.2, it imposed several #Android applications and the worst of the matter, it blocked the multi-window function, which most distinguished it from the others and, in my opinion, above #ipads. terrible the loss of that function. (Updated May 29, 2014. From Mexico). Greetings.

I was also encouraged to update my note 8.0 yesterday May 30, 2014 but I began to suffer the worst ... although I had a multi-window ... mine stopped working with the touch with my finger, it only responded to the s-pen, I tried to listen to music through your player by default, and it turns out that it hangs and so far I can't open it, the screen remains black ... and the worst ... the battery consumes fast, in 5 seconds from 30% to 12% what shit .... no more samsung, i will buy a sony xperia by far the best

The same. Several of my applications do not work or stop when starting the device. The only good thing is that the applications are already allowed to be moved to the sd, however, on the screen you no longer see the icon of the application moved to the sd but a horrible x.

Well… yours is due to a more serious problem…. extra battery consumption…. no support on the touch screen ... crashed applications ... that would mean a damage to the hardware unless it has created some severe errors at the time of the software update

Attention: I updated and I had problems such as the loss of the multi window among others. I backed up all my files and restored to factory settings. EVERYTHING, yes, EVERYTHING was fixed. Greetings.
