Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) vs MediaPad T2 Pro 10: comparison

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) Huawei MediaPad T2 Pro

A couple of days ago we brought you one comparative between the recent Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) and what, at least so far, is the most popular 10-inch tablet in Huawei. Although it is not yet sold in our country, there is a second model, however, which is even more appropriate to compare with the new tablet of Samsung, since their characteristics are even more similar, including a very particular one that we find in the design of both: today we are going to measure the Technical specifications of the new Korean tablet and the MediaPad T2 Pro 10.

Integrated

We always comment when we talk about the new A Galaxy Tab that in its design we find a peculiar combination of the 16:10 format with the prioritization of the portrait format that means that when we are going to use it in the landscape position, we will find that the thickest frames are found on the sides, something infrequent, but that can be quite fortunate, as it gives us more grip surface. We had already seen, however, another tablet before that did the same and it is this MediaPad T2 Pro. Huawei's tablet, on the other hand, has the advantage of having a metal casing.

Dimensions

Even though the two tablets share that unusual design, we can still appreciate that the tablet from Samsung is slightly more elongated (25,42x15,53 inch against 25,91x15,64 inch). In any case, they move in very similar dimensions, as is also the case with thickness (8,2 mm against 8,5 mm). Something more remarkable, however, is the difference in weight (525 grams against 495 grams).

Screen

The tie itself is total in the screen section, without any characteristic that allows us to tip the balance from one side or the other or help guide the choice: both have a screen of 10.1 inches with 16:10 aspect ratio (optimized for video playback), Full HD resolution (1920 x 1200) and pixel density PPI 224.

Performance

La MediaPad T2 Pro is also closer than the MediaPad M2 to the new A Galaxy Tab with regard to the performance section: not only do the two have 2 GB of RAM memory, but also the characteristics of its processors are quite similar, with eight cores in both cases, and only a slightly higher frequency for that of the tablet from Samsung (1,6 GHz against 1,5 GHz).

Storage capacity

As far as there are no differences again, as is more usual, it is with regard to the storage capacity section, since with both we will have 16 GB of internal memory and we will also enjoy the possibility of expanding it externally thanks to the fact that both have a card slot micro-SD.

Cameras

We always recommend being realistic with the use that we are going to give the cameras in our tablets when choosing a model, but it is also true that we will not find big differences in this case either: the main camera is of 8 MP in both and only in the front camera we observe that the MediaPad T2 Pro takes advantage, with 5 MP over the 2 MP new A Galaxy Tab.

Autonomy

We will have to wait to see if the real use tests give us some important surprise in terms of autonomy but, if the consumption of the two is more or less similar (and their characteristics suggest that it should be), the normal thing would be that the victory out for the new A Galaxy Tab, since its battery is of greater capacity (7300 mAh against 6660 mAh).

Price

When we are choosing a mid-range tablet, the price is always an important factor but, unfortunately, in this case we cannot draw definitive conclusions, since we do not yet know how much the tablet will sell for. MediaPad T2 Pro when it arrives in our country. What we do know is that Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) will be sold in Europe for $290.
