Recently Samsung unveiled its new line of inexpensive tablets. Their low prices are often very attractive to consumers. Although, there is a great offer out there that helps us measure the value for money of the new models. In this case, we want to assess that of the 7-inch model. In this size there is a fundamental reference that serves as a judge of everything new that comes out. Therefore, we want to offer you this comparison between Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 and Nexus 7 2013.
Design, size and weight
Neither of the two tablets is committed to luxury. Its plastic building materials are humble and functional. Perhaps aesthetically it is noticeable that the Korean one is more modern, with a greater prominence of the screen, thanks to the reduction of the frame, which makes it less bulky, although in the thickness it is slightly exceeded. It is also a bit lighter.
Another design difference is in the buttons, while in the model manufactured by ASUS they are hidden, in the Samsung they are shown, even with a physical start button.
Screen
Samsung has finally raised the bar for the screen resolution of its entry-level 7-inch tablet. It had maintained for three generations in a row a standard of 1024 x 600 pixels that was becoming more and more telltale. Still, it falls short of the Nexus 7 level with its 1920 x 1200 pixel Full HD. It also doesn't have an IPS panel that offers wide viewing angles. Finally, we do not have a protective glass to avoid annoying scratches.
Performance
We still do not have a benchmark test for the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. Its chip has not been specified before the press, something that does not give us a very good thorn. His older sisters also opt for a quad-core processor with the Snapdragon 400, but it seems clear that we are facing one of a lower quality. We are completely convinced that it will not reach the level of the Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, vitaminized to almost being a Snapdragon 600, from Google's.
Storage
Although in Samsung we have a lower internal storage, the microSD slot that allows us to expand up to 64 GB gives us a lifetime. The Nexus line avoids external storage expansion options, something that penalizes it in all comparisons.
Connectivity
Both teams are very on par in this section. Regarding internet connection through local networks or mobile networks, we can choose the same type of capabilities. Of course, we still do not know if in Spain we will have Samsung with LTE.
In terms of local connectivity, Samsung wins when we think of televisions, however, the American has NFC
Cameras and sound
When it comes to camera, the Nexus 7 has a more powerful rear camera than its rival. In the sound section, we should not expect anything good from any of the teams. Unfortunately, in this almost no tablet convinces us, however, the teams built by ASUS tend to defend themselves better in this section and when we tested it, we were able to ratify it.
Battery
We do not have data on the battery of Samsung, although we estimate that it has to be very similar to that of its rival, since they have similar dimensions and weights, so there should not be much variation.
Prices and conclusions
When we compare a tablet with a model of the Nexus range, the normal thing is that in the price we find a contrast. This time around, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has a cheaper starting price than Google's. The savings would be 29 euros in the most basic models. However, because of that difference we get a much more advanced team than its rival, despite being newer on the date of presentation.
If we think about the enjoyment of content, it is true that we could say that the micro SD slot of the Samsung is a great point in favor, but the quality of the screen and, predictably, of the sound will be superior in the Nexus 7. In this sense , we have a tirade between storage or quality of experience.
Regarding the aspects of the user experience derived from performance, we must say that we will enjoy more video games or the fluidity in the OS interface with that of Google.
Samsung, like so many other brands, is left out of the game with the Mountain View strategy. However, the commercial pull of its brand and its distribution capacity make this type of model a great commercial success.

I have the samsung galaxy tab 3 and the google nexus 7 2013 and the difference is quite noticeable, the samsung freezes too much simply browsing the web, too much lag and well, how can I compare them! And as I see the tab 4 does not bring enough changes not to decide on a 2013 nexus
