It has been three weeks since Google announced the launch of Android 7.0 Nougat, which in previous years would have almost automatically implied the arrival of an OTA to all Nexus compatible with the update. However, this course things are being delayed more than expected in some terminals, an issue that is not being alluded too much from the media but that is beginning to be notorious.
It is true that there is a way to force the update, subscribing to the beta program. In my case, I have two Nexus compatible with nougat, one is registered and the other is not. So one works with Android 7 and the other with marshmallow, when the most logical thing is that Google would have carried out a faster and more systematic deployment. Probably, this trick does not generate so much noise around the issue, but it will still be irritating for some users who do not want to install the beta to have to continue waiting for the most recent version to arrive on their terminals when they sign it. from Google if something guaranteed it was that: immediate availability.

Nexus 6P, 6, 9… Google, what's going on?
Having a Nexus is the closest thing to having an iPhone or iPad in terms of updates, always considering that Google offers two years of support for new versions and Apple between three and four. Even so, we are witnessing a delay on the part of Mountain View in launching the OTAs certainly improper. If last week there was talk of problems with the Nexus 6P, in the last hours I missed myself reading references to the Nexus 6 and 9, which will still have to wait a few more weeks.
In the first case, the one with the Nexus 6P was blamed for the matter on Huawei, alluding to an incident with the battery that apparently does increase your consumption disproportionately (for this all betas), but with the other two models no reason has even been given.
Android Nougat: Rush or change of method?
We will have to let some time pass and see how everything happens, however, it looks very much like Google rushed when announcing the launch of Android 7. Nougat for this summer, a purpose with which it almost fulfilled the discount and that for users little given to working manually, has not been effective yet.
Another possibility is that the Mountain Viewers are going to get serious about swap Nexus for Pixel and become one more manufacturer; which is still the first to update, yes, but in a less forceful and more progressive way, not as we were used to to date. If so, for my taste, part of the charm would be lost based on the similarities with iOS that characterized the Nexus and made them special.
