Google just went up Hangouts 2.0 to the App Store, a version that adapts to the aesthetics of iOS 7, with a cleaner and flatter interface, and that offers a good amount of new features for iPad. Although it is not a tool as widely used as WhatsApp in everyday interactions, this Google alternative is consolidated as a great proposal for iDevices.
After its launch (in June), and its first major update (back in November), Hangouts has now made a major leap in iOS 7, especially in its tablet format. This is precisely one of the most important advantages of the application, since it works natively, and without complications, in multiple supports, tablets, smartphones, PC, question on WhatsApp (or Telegram, which seems like its great alternative today) has not yet evolved.
What's new in the iPad version
In addition to a specific design that adapts to the proportions of the iPad screen, Hangouts has added some new functions for the Apple tablet. The most significant thing about this update is that now the App allows chats face to face on video, as well as send 10 second recordings to our contacts when they are not connected.
They have also been added stickers animated, Line style and the ability to send our location directly during conversations.
A difficult journey
Although today Hangouts is a magnificent tool, the fact that it came later that its main rivals (especially WhatsApp, Line or Viber) is taking its toll. Either way, if there is a firm with enough resources to overcome almost all adversities, that is Google and if it continues, continue expanding the possibilities of its messaging service, users will see it as an increasingly desirable option.
