Honor 4X vs Motorola G 2014: comparison

Yesterday captured all our attention, logically, the debut of the X, but given the uncertainty that exists at the moment regarding whether or not it will see the light at an international level, today we are going to deal with another good news that also took place, although this time in the field of Midrange: the launch of Honor 4X. The new phablet of Huawei is going to be the protagonist today of our comparison and, how could it be otherwise, we started facing one of the best alternatives that we can find in its price range: the Moto G 2014. Which of the two will win?

Integrated

Little to say about the design of both smartphones, which, being correct, is not actually the main attraction of either of them: plastic predominates in both, as is logical considering what they cost, and in both we find quite a few lines classic, somewhat smoother on the smartphone of Motorola.

Dimensions

There is an obvious size difference, however, between these two devices (15,29x7,72 inch against 14,15x7,07 inch), logical if we take into account that the screen of the Honor 4X it is noticeably older. It is also within the expectation that the Moto G 2014 be lighter (165 grams vs. 149 grams), but victory goes to the phablet of Huawei if we look at the thickness (8,7 mm against 11 mm).

Screen

The main difference that we find regarding the screen is simply the size (5.5 inches against 5 inches), since in both cases we find an LCD panel with HD resolution (1280 x 720). The fact that the Honor 4X's screen is larger, however, makes its pixel density somewhat lower (PPI 267 vs 294 PPI).

Performance

The balance tips to the side of the Honor 4X in the performance section, partly because of the processor (Kirin 620 front Snapdragon 400), which in the two smartphones has a similar frequency (1,2 GHz) but in the Huawei smartphone it is 8 cores (in front of 4 nuclei chip Qualcomm), but partly also because of having more RAM memory (2 GB against 1 GB). Keep in mind that the Moto G 2014 has in its favor, however, running a fluid customization that is almost the Android stock (and with the bonus of receiving the updates pretty fast).

Storage capacity

In both cases the device arrives quite short of internal memory, with only 8 GB of storage capacity, but both the Honor 4X such as Moto G 2014 they give us the opportunity to compensate for the possible lack of space that we may suffer by expanding the memory externally through card micro-SD.

Cameras

The victory here of the Honor 4X is stronger, with a more powerful sensor for both the main camera (13 MP against 8 MP), as in the front camera (5 MP against 2 MP), figures that are quite close to what we can find in the high range.

Battery

We will have to wait for the autonomy tests to see how the car really behaves. Honor 4X but, as far as battery capacity is concerned, the advantage is again for him and very clear (something normal, on the other hand, considering that it is a larger device), with 3000 mAh against 2070 mAh.

Price

El Moto G 2014 regains ground if we look at the price, since it can be bought already for $175, Whereas the Honor 4X, just released, is sold for $200. The difference between the two, in any case, is not too great, as you can see, so it seems quite advisable to choose based on what are the characteristics that interest us the most.
