How to locate the iPad's UDID, CDN, IMEI and ICCID

Let's go with another of those basic tutorials for newbies with the iPad and which you do not remember until you need to find one of the identifiers that we have mentioned. For certain processes or to know some other detail of our tablet, sometimes we need to know the following codes: serial number, UDID, CDN, IMEI and ICCID. First, we are going to explain what each of the acronyms is, since the meaning of the serial number is self-explanatory:

  • UDID or UUID: Universally unique identifier (universally unique identifier). The UDID is the identification number of the iPad, do not confuse this with the serial number, they are different things.
  • CDN (iPad 3G): mobile data number, that is, the mobile number used by the iPad modem.
  • IMEI (iPad 3G): International Mobile Equipment Identity (International Mobile Equipment Identity). is a pre-recorded code in the mobile GSM. This code uniquely identifies the device worldwide, and is transmitted by the device to the network upon connection to it.
  • ICCID (iPad 3G): Each SIM card is internationally identified by its ICC ID (International Circuit Card Identifier - Integrated Circuit Card ID).

The steps to know this data are very simple:

  1. We connect the iPad to the computer, either through the USB cable or wirelessly.
  2. We open iTunes.
  3.  In the device column we look for the tablet icon and click on it. Be careful, not about its content library, but about the device itself.
  4. Now several interesting data will appear on the screen. The first is the photo representation of our device, the name we have given it, the iOS version that it has installed and the serial number. We already have one of the data.

  1. You just have to click on where the text "Serial Number" is and we will see how the UDID appears successively with each click, and if we have the iPad 3G it will be followed by the CDN, the IMEI, and finally the ICCID, to see again the Serial Number and start over.
