How to root the Asus TF300T tablet

Asus TF300T Root

In this tutorial we are going to explain how we can root the Asus TF300T tablet. The first thing we must do to the tablet is to unlock the bootloader to install a recovery.

Unlock from bootloader:

The first thing we need is an Asus TF300T tablet with Ice Cream Sandwich installed. To unlock the bootloader, we must download an application from the official Asus website. To do this, we access the website of Asus Download and there we select OS: Android> Utilities and download the Unlock Device App package. We will download an installer for Android .apk that we must install to release the bootloader. Before installing the application, we must enable the possibility of installing applications not signed by google as explained in the next tutorial.

We execute the file that we have downloaded, we read the notice that marks us on the screen and then we click on “unlock your device” to unlock the bootloader. We already have the bootloader released with the official Asus application, then we are going to install a modified recovery with which we can flash the device.

Install recovery:

Once we have the tablet with the bootloader unlocked, we proceed to install a modified recovery. For this, we need a PC with Windows and the USB drivers installed. These drivers are installed when we install the PC Suite. To install the recovery we must have PC Suite installed but totally closed. Next we must activate the USB debugging mode, for this we access settings> Developer options and once here we activate the "USB debugging" tab.

To perform the root process, we must download the following files:

We must extract the Fastboot folder on our system and copy the recovery.img file to the folder where we have unzipped the fastboot.

Then we turn off the tablet and we must start it in fastboot mode, for this we turn on the tablet by pressing power + volume down until we see a menu on the screen that tells us "Press Volume Up to enter RCK”. We must wait about 5 seconds until we see a new menu. There we must select the USB icon using the volume down key and select it with the volume up key. If it takes more than 10 seconds, the tablet will reboot and start Android again. Once we have the tablet in fastboot mode, we must connect it to the PC through the USB cable.

Now we must go to our computer, in the folder where we have unzipped the fastboot folder and open a command prompt window there, for this we press the shift key on our keyboard and right-click and select open command prompt here .

Once we have a ms-dos window in our system, we proceed to flashing. To do this, we must enter the following:

fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery recovery.img

With this, we will install the ClockworkMod recovery. Once the process is finished, it will show us a warning saying that the process has been carried out correctly. With this, we can now restart the tablet by entering the following line in the terminal:

fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot

With this, we already have the recovery installed on our tablet. Next we will proceed to install the necessary files to get root access to our system.

Install Root:

The first thing we must do is download the file necessary to root from the following link. Once downloaded, we copy it to the internal memory of our tablet and turn it off.

Next, we will turn on the tablet in recovery mode, for this we turn it on by pressing the volume down button next to the power button, and the message “Press Volume Up to enter RCK” will appear. We press the volume up button, in less than 5 seconds, and we will access the recovery of our asus. From the recovery, we select Install zip from sdcard> Choose zip from sdcard and from there we look for the root-signed.zip file and select it. We confirm the installation by selecting the option "yes" and this file will be installed.

Once installed, we restart our tablet from the reboot option, it will start again on Android and we will have the tablet running with root permissions.

We save the robot file in the internal memory but from the recovery we look for the file in sdcard ¿¿Does it not match .. if I save it in the internal one, it will be in the internal one, not in the sdcard, right?

we are two now. I have started today and nothing. Above I have a problem when installing and executing Unlock, since it asks me for the google email and password that I have and it tells me that it is not correct and that it is fine. Because of that bullshit I can't move forward. The password is correct, because I access the emails from the tablet, but the Unlock when executing it asks for it and tells me that it is not correct. I have changed lqa password twice and nothing.

Unlink the gmail account from your tablet so they won't ask for your gmail.
