HP will market tablets manufactured by Huawei under its own brand

HP will soon launch some tablets made by the Chinese company Huawei with its seal. It's about the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra and HP Slate 8 Plus that have been leaked in recent weeks. Suspicions have been triggered by the similar design of these with the MediaPad X1, are practically identical, it is difficult to find differences between the two. This fact could be due to a collaboration between both companies with the aim of reduce costs in a market where competition is brutal, and therefore, both could be favored.

It is not the first time that we have seen two companies working together, one being in charge of manufacturing the devices and the other the one that stamps its brand and takes them to the market. The clearest example is found with Google and its Nexus smartphones and tablets. LG and Asus have manufactured the Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 for the American giant, which have garnered so many successes. Those of Mountain View have achieved something that is fundamental, to give added value to these products, creating your own identity that has little or nothing to do with its actual manufacturer.

HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra and HP Slate 8 Plus

Just a few days ago we were aware of the existence of two new HP tablets. If you check, Identical specifications to the Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0.

As well all the details of the Slate 8 Plus leaked. 8-inch screen with 1.280 x 800 pixel resolution, 1,6 GHz Quad-Core processor, 1 gigabyte RAM, 16 storage, 5 megapixels in its main camera and Android 4.2.2 are some of its main features. In this case, the specifications would correspond to an upcoming Huawei MediaPad X1 8.0.

With the number of models on the market, the fact that they coincide in their specifications could be the result of a mere chance, however, it is difficult to imagine this level of similarity. As if that were not enough, the first images that have been leaked of the new HP tablets, have an identical design to the named of Huawei.

Beneficial for both

What do LG or Asus gain by manufacturing devices for Google? Obviously, a part of the sales benefits associated with the Nexus that they achieve without having to carry out promotional tasks and all the problems involved in launching a new terminal and having it sounded. More or less the same would offer HP to Huawei. If the Chinese manufacturer has already developed these models, all you need is increase their production so that their partner sells them for them. HP meanwhile, get the devices in a more economical way than if I had to create them from scratch.

Another aspect is that both are oriented to somewhat different markets. While Huawei tries to reach consumers, HP also focuses on the Business field. The two win, both improve their sales figures with the agreement without this involving a large investment, an advantage without a doubt in such a competitive market, so it would not be surprising if we see similar agreements in the near future.
