Huawei presents the new MateBook D, E and X: all the information

We already told you last week that Huawei was prepared to take the leading role from Microsoft today with the presentation of the second generation of your MateBook (which this time includes some models that are rather portable) and finally we can give you all the details of their new Windows professional tablets.

So are the new MateBook

We start with the images of the MateBook X, which will be the main protagonist of the event because, after all, it is the highest level device of the three that make up this second generation and that, as you can see and as the leaks had announced, is one of the models that they already arrive with format portable. What is the flagship device is already clear in its design, in any case, with a housing of anodized aluminum and screen of 13 inches diagonal, with edge edges, in addition to splash guard, the fingerprint reader and USB Type-C port.

As with the first MateBook, one of the things that stands out the most is the great job it has done Huawei in terms of optimization, since it has been possible to create the smallest notebook in the world with that size, with only 4,4 mm of frame. It is also quite thin, with a thickness of only 12,5 mm, and light, with a weight of 1,05 kg.

The model that most interests us, in any case, the one that has kept the hybrid format the most, is the MateBook E And here if the similarities with its predecessor are really great, although it is not something to complain about, the design of that was one of its great attractions, with particularly stylized lines for a professional Windows tablet. It not only preserves the design, but also the size, with a screen of 12 inches. As in this case we can do without the keyboard, we are left with a weight of 640 grams, although if we add this accessory we are in similar figures (1,1 kg).

La MateBook DFinally, and again the leaks were right, it is a device halfway between these two: by size and hardware it is closer to the MateBook E, but by format it is of the MateBook X. It is, so to speak, a "mini" version of the latter, although applying this adjective to it can be somewhat confusing, because it is still a high-end Windows device.

Intel XNUMXth generation processors

The great novelty of the new models is in the performance section, and not only because, as it could not be otherwise, it will arrive with XNUMXth generation Intel processors, but because this time we will also have more powerful configurations than with the first model. The MateBook X, specifically, it will be possible to achieve up to a Intel Core I7 with a maximum frequency of up to 3,25 GHz In the MateBook E, on the other hand, the stop will be in a Intel Core i5, and the basic model will keep coming a Intel Core m3, the two accompanied por 4 or 8 GB of RAM.

Not all the improvements have to do with the performance section, in any case, but Huawei has also made an effort to evolve in one of the points in which the first MateBook shone less, which errs the autonomy, due to good measure, because to be so fine it was necessary to make sacrifices in battery capacity. With this MateBook X, in any case, they promise us that we will be able to enjoy up to 10 hours of uninterrupted use. At the moment we do not have a similar estimate for the hybrid model, but we can tell you that its battery is 4430 mAh, just like its predecessor, so don't expect that much progress here.

In the screen section, although we find two different sizes, as we have already said, it seems that except for this factor there will not be many more differences between the two, since both use IPS panels and maintain the resolution 2160 x 1440. That does not mean that there have been no improvements over the first model, if at all: the color gamut has been expanded substantially and so have the brightness levels.

With regard to storage capacity, we must bear in mind that we will not have the same options in all models and, for once, it is with the cheapest ones where we will have more to choose from, because it turns out that the MateBook X would not be available with just 128 GB, as the MateBook E, but can only be achieved with 256 or 512 GB (two options that it seems that we will also have with the hybrid version).

Will arrive this summer

In the case of the MateBook the details about its launch have been much scarcer than with the new Surface Pro and the only thing we can tell you at the moment is that Huawei has announced that it will go on sale this summer. We will have to wait a little longer to be able to confirm exactly when we can buy it and how much each model will cost us. We will keep you informed.
