iOS 11.2: what's new in the latest beta

ipad for 10.5

In Cupertino they have started the week once again by launching a new beta for developers that gives us another preview of what we are going to find in the next update that it reaches our iPad and iPhone: we review the latest what's new in iOS 11.2 and we also leave you a video in which you can take a look yourself.

iOS 11.2 tries to remedy the problem with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the control center

Although its reception was predominantly positive, some of the small changes that it left us iOS 11 they were not particularly well received and (leaving aside the usual battery problems that all updates cause) perhaps the one that received the most criticism was the fact that it could no longer be completely disconnected Wi-Fi and Bluetooth from the control center, as we already explained to you at the time. Since the update, if we want to disable any of those connections completely, we have to do it from the settings menu.

We wish we could say that this is something that will change with iOS 11.2, but unfortunately it is not. Nevertheless, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has tried to make amends for the situation and avoid confusions at least to the less informed users, making it clearer what exactly happens when we “disconnect” Wi-Fi and Bluetooth from the control center, with a small informative message. The appearance of the icon has also changed somewhat, to differentiate it from the one we all associate with complete disconnection.

A video look at what's new

This small remedy for the problem with the handling of connections from the control center is the main novelty that the latest beta of iOS 11.2, especially for users of iPad and earlier models of the iPhone, because for those who already have some of the latest generation, it should be noted that it has supported a faster charge.

If you want to take a look for yourselves, and take the opportunity to discover some other small tweaks in the design of the control center, we leave you, as always, a video that reviews all the news that have been found in the beta so far (it is always possible that with the use someone ends up noticing some other small modification). And if you want to review the ones we had discovered with the first betas of iOS 11.2We remind you that we showed them to you last week also on video.

Waiting for its official launch

The betas of iOS 11.2 they continue to be put into circulation quite frequently and, for the moment at least, we still do not see any that leave us any novelty of draft, so it does not seem unreasonable to think that the official launch may be relatively close, even though that of iOS 11.1 it is still quite recent. Hopefully that is the case, because even though it doesn't introduce very interesting news, all bug fixes and performance and stability improvements are always welcome.
