In spring we talk about Project Treble. This initiative, developed in recent years by Google and with a very discreet dissemination, had as its main objective to streamline the update processes and facilitate the process by which different companies could create small modifications in successive versions of Android. Although not much more is known about him yet, the truth is that little by little new information about his current state appears.
A few hours ago it was revealed that one of the firms that have been quick to step on the accelerator with new launches in the final stretch of 2017, One Plus, will not incorporate this advance in its next terminals. At first, the idea that Project Treble would be installed as standard in all terminals that had Android Oreo spread. With this feature, the operating system se would leave as follows: One part would be the basic unmodified software supplied by Google and the other would be the one that manufacturers could modify to add their own work. This would serve, as we said before, to speed up the updates. However, as was the case with the implementation of version 8.0 of the Mountain View platform, this change would come gradually and not at all.
OnePlus takes off from Project Treble
In the last hours, portals like GSMArena Through Chinese technology itself, they have announced that the next supports launched by the firm, as well as the most recent ones that have appeared, will have support to pass to the new member of the green robot family. However, they will not receive the necessary assistance to add Treble. The decision would be supported by some stability failures that the new Android interface has yet to solve and that they would be solved in the near future.
A project that needs improvement?
Currently, the adoption of this feature is still very limited despite the fact that more and more terminals that in one way or another, have Android Oreo.
