Lenovo Horizon 2e and Horizon 2S, second generation of All in One tablets

More than a year and a half ago, Lenovo unveiled the IdeaCentre Horizon all-in-one tablet. It has been made to wait but during its presentation turn at IFA 2014 that is being held these days in Berlin they have announced the second generation that also arrives in two different models, Horizon 2e and Horizon 2S, large tablets that can be used as mobile devices, but also as desktop computers and even as a surface for board games.

La Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon was presented in January 2013, a Table PC as they called it at that time that had a 27-inch screen. Basically it could be used in two ways: vertically and horizontally, but the tasks that could be performed with this device were quite limited and were practically reduced to one: play video games. Thanks to its huge screen we could enjoy alone, with friends or family to the more than 400.000 titles available thanks to an agreement with Bluestacks that brought them from Google Play.

One of the main problems with the IdeaCentre Horizon is that it was not easy to transport since it weighed 8 kilos. They have tried to correct this although to do so they have had to reduce its size. Specifically, this model has a 19,5 inch but it "only" weighs 2,5 kilograms. The IPS screen has 1.920 x 1.080 pixel resolution and the processor that will move the ins and outs of this beast is a Intel Haswell. More specifications: 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB of storage, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, NFC and dual USB 3.0 ports as well as an SD card reader and stereo speakers.

The huge built-in battery offers up to 2,5 hours video playback in high definition which greatly expands its possibilities as a multimedia display equipment, but does not lose its focus on video games with accessories such as compatible joysticks and electronic dice. We can also use a wireless keyboard and together with the support that it includes to keep it standing, convert this tablet into a Desktop PC. Will be available from U.S. dollar 949 in the month of October.

Horizon 2e

The previous model is relatively easy to transport and is more focused for use in different areas of the house (exceptionally also outside of it). This however, due to its larger dimensions, 21,5 inches but above all because of its weight, 5 Kilograms, It is intended more for use as an easy-to-carry PC (a "laptop") and in a horizontal position. This idea is reflected in each of the specifications, since its processor is a Intel Haswell but more powerful, and will be supported by the graphics Nvidia GT820A. The RAM remains at 8GB but the storage memory amounts to 1TB.

3W stereo speakers, two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI input, in addition to WiFi and Bluetooth, they give the possibility of using it as a secondary or even main monitor (making use of the support). Although they have not given the exact figures, its battery is larger and guarantees about 3 hours of operation. Its price starts at U.S. dollar 749 and can be purchased next month.
