Lenovo could be the next manufacturer that chooses to renew one of its models presented last year including Full HD screen. It is the Miix 2 8, precisely one of the devices that the Chinese company would supposedly stop selling in the United States according to a news story a few days ago that they denied a little later.

Last October, Lenovo introduced the Miix 2 8, a tablet with 8 inches of screen as its name indicates with HD resolution (1.280 x 800 pixels), processor Intel Atom from the Bay Trail-T family with quad cores, Intel HD Graphics Gen 7 graphics card, 2 GB of RAM, 32, 64 or 128 GB internal storage expandable via microSD card. Other features were a 5 megapixel main camera, a 2 megapixel secondary camera, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, and a battery that guarantees 7 hours of autonomy. In addition, and as is usual in tablets with the Microsoft operating system, it includes the office suite Office Home & Student pre-installed that you can get the most out of thanks to the stylus.

Despite being a good device, it had not given more to talk about than any other until about 10 days ago. A Lenovo spokesperson stated that would stop selling small Windows tablets in the United States in response to low demand for these devices. Among the models involved was the ThinkPad 8 and this Miix 2 8. The price competition set by Android, phablets and a few other factors would have played a role. Few days later, a company statement denied this information that ran like wildfire through the net. They pointed out that in the particular case of the Miix 2 8, what had happened is that stocks had run out.

They also pointed out that they will continue to launch new models, specifically an 8-inch and a 10-inch one soon. It is not something confirmed but an option, they could refer to this improved version of the Miix 2 8 with Full HD screen. For the rest, it would continue to keep the rest of the specifications intact. The screen is really one of the aspects that, by itself, justifies some choices when consumers are undecided, and therefore it is not surprising that it is one of the characteristics that manufacturers take care of the most.

If confirmed, it would almost certainly reach all markets where the original model is marketed, including Spain, for a price that logically should increase slightly. It would thus join other tablets that have done the same as the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra or recently the Acer Aspire Switch 10.
