Yesterday we brought you a comparison between the new Tab3 Essential and the most popular of the new 7-inch tablets of Samsung, the Galaxy Tab A (2016), but this is not the only one of this size that has joined the Korean catalog in recent times: although with less presence in stores, at least for the moment, it also saw the light a Galaxy Tab E Lite, which, in fact, should be even closer to the tablet of Lenovo en price y Technical specifications. We are going to see if, indeed, it can be a good alternative in our comparative Today.
Integrated
Aesthetically, the differences are basically the same as we found when comparing the Tab3 Essential with the Galaxy Tab A (2016), since in both are perfectly recognizable the identity signs of the mobile devices of Samsung, with its smooth lines and its physical home button. In both, plastic predominates as a material, but the finishes are good for low-end tablets.
Dimensions
It seems that the frames of the Galaxy Tab E Lite are somewhat thicker than those of the Tab3 Essential but, as you can see, the difference is minimal (19x11,3 inch against 19,34x11,64 inch), and the same happens with the weight (300 grams versus 310 grams) and with the thickness, although in this case in favor of the tablet of Samsung (9,9 mm against 9,7 mm).
Screen
When we go to the screen section, it is not that we already find similarities, but that their basic technical specifications are identical: in both cases we have a screen of 7 inches, with a 16:10 aspect ratio (optimized for video playback) with resolution 1024 x 600 and a pixel density of PPI 170). Nothing that tips the balance from one side or the other, therefore.
Performance
The tie is also practically absolute when it comes to performance, with a quad-core processor and 1,3 GHz frequency accompanied by 1 GB of RAM in both cases. The only thing that undoes the equality is that while the tablet of Samsung arrives with Android Kit Kat as an operating system, that of Lenovo arrives with Android Lollipop upgradeable to Android Marshmallow.
Storage capacity
If they did not differ much in screen and performance, even less was it to be expected in terms of storage capacity: no surprises, in both models we find an internal memory of 8 GB, with the option, yes, of expanding the space externally through a card micro-SD.
Cameras
The cameras section is not the one that we should pay more attention to when choosing a tablet and even less a basic range tablet, but even if we have special interest in this data, in this case we do not have much to base ourselves on to choose, since in both cases we have a camera of 2 MP.
Autonomy
At the moment we cannot say anything definitive about the autonomy of any of these models and the only thing that we can leave you, as a guide, is the capacity data of their respective batteries, which give a certain advantage to the tablet of Samsung (3450 mAh against 3600 mAh). It is not too big a difference, but considering how similar the rest of its characteristics are and, therefore, probably also its consumption, it may be enough to make a difference.
Price
We also still have to take precautions when comparing their prices, since at the moment the price we have for the tablet of Samsung is in dollarsU.S. dollar 150) and that of Lenovo corresponds to some of the few distributors where we can get it now ($100), but it is possible that when it is launched on a large scale we will see better prices, judging by those we have found in other countries of the European Union. In any case, it seems that we can expect the Tab3 Essential is significantly more affordable than the Galaxy Tab E Lite, at least at first.
