Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 3 is already cooking with an Intel Atom Bay Trail chip

A representative from Lenovo has recently spoken about the future of their Windows 8 tablets and has given some clue as to what would be the ThinkPad Tablet 3. The key will be in the use of the Intel Atom chips from the Bay Trail family to get more power but also more autonomy.

According to Stephen Miller, a spokesman for the Chinese company, they are already developing the successor to the ThinkPad Tablet 2. This team was clearly designed for the professional environment. Proof of it was that it had a full USB port. Its successor will follow this line and therefore will also have the corresponding OS version.

Unlike the Surface Pro 2 and other tablets and PCs with the full version of Windows 8.1, the latest generation Intel Core processor, the Haswells, has been put aside to go for a more efficient compound.

The performance of both is unmatched, but the latest Atoms in the Bay Trail family have gotten better. Specifically processes data twice as fast and graphics up to three times faster. All this is also done in a more energy efficient way, so we can expect a greater autonomy.

Current Bay Trail chip tablets carry a 32-bit version of the operating system, but as of Q2014 XNUMX, they will take a step forward with a 64-bit version which will improve the reading speed. For this they will need a suitable chip and this is the path Lenovo will follow with its ThinkPad Tablet 3.

The current price of these equipment is based on the U.S. dollar 300, but it is unlikely that in the next generation prices will go up, so we would be getting more performance for the same money.

It is also believed that they will come with new security features provided by Intel such as Vpro that will allow us to control the tablet from a distance to protect the information in case it is lost or stolen.
