LG G Pad III 10.1 vs LG G Pad III 8.0: comparison

LG G Pad III 10.1 vs. LG G Pad III 8.0

We will finish our series of comparative you dedicate to the new LG GPad III 10 inches compared to the 8-inch model that saw the light a few months earlier. Of course, size may be a deciding factor for many when choosing between one model and another, but surely there will be many who, with a difference of price reasonable, they can be encouraged to opt for the larger model, especially if it is accompanied by better Technical specifications. Is this the case with the latest tablets from LG? Let's check it out.

Integrated

We must start by saying that, despite the foreseeable similarities in the aesthetics of these two tablets, there are a couple of differences to take into account: the first, less surprising, is that the smallest is oriented to use in portrait mode instead from to use in landscape mode; the second, less intuitive and probably more interesting for most, is that the 10-inch model has a lectern that allows us to use it as a monitor, either to work or to watch movies.

Dimensions

Comparing the dimensions of these models is not fair, obviously, given the difference in inches of their respective screens, but for those who want to know exactly how much larger the 10-inch tablet is as a device (25,62x16,79 inch against 21,07x12,41 inch) and how much heavier (510 grams against 309 grams), here are the numbers. It is interesting to note, in any case, that the thickness is identical (7,9 mm).

Screen

The aforementioned size difference (10.1 inches against 8 inches) is the only relevant one when we examine the screen section, since the rest of its technical specifications are identical: they both have Full HD resolution (1920 x 1200) and both use the 16:10 aspect ratio (optimized for video playback).

Performance

It seems that neither in the performance section there is anything that a priori can help us tip the balance in one direction or another: LG It has not specified which is the processor of the 10-inch model, but we would not be surprised if it was the same as in the 8 Snapdragon 617) and, in any case, their technical specifications coincide (eight cores and 1,5 GHz maximum frequency), and the two accompany it 2 GB of RAM.

Storage capacity

Yes, there is an interesting difference in the storage capacity section since, despite the fact that both have a card slot micro-SD, the standard 10-inch model comes with 32 GB of internal memory while the 8 comes with 16 GB. We must therefore bear in mind that the difference in price we pay to get the larger of the two tablets also responds to more space to accumulate applications, photographs and other files.

Cameras

In the section of cameras, equality returns: with both we will have a camera of 5 MP in the back and the same in the front. If we normally already recommend not paying too much attention to this section, in this case it is clear that we can completely ignore it.

Autonomy

Again we find a point where the comparison of technical specifications is not very adequate, because it is difficult to estimate how much difference in consumption the size of their respective screens can make (which will probably be the determining factor, taking into account that the resolution is identical) and to what extent the battery capacity advantage of the 10-inch model (6000 mAh against 4800 mAh) is enough to make up for it. We will have to wait for the autonomy tests.

Price

As we said at the beginning, surely for many, choosing between one or the other model will depend a lot on how much more it costs to get the one from 10 inches, but at the moment, unfortunately, we do not have official information for our country of its launch, although what we know about its prices in other countries indicates that it can be around 100 euros. We will be attentive when there is it to update you.
