One of the characteristics that generates the most uncertainty about the LG G3 is that of your processor. In January it was advanced that the arrival of the first terminals with the Snapdragon 805 could take place during this month of May, however, the issue seems to be delayed and, according to a leaked insider from LG, the next flagship of the firm (whose presentation will take place in two weeks) will still mount the Snapdragon 801.
This is (relatively) bad news for all those who expected the most of the LG G3. LG's new flagship will be presented on Tuesday, May 27 with some dizzying features: 5,5-inch screen and 2560 × 1440 pixels, 3 GB of RAM, camera with OIS +, water resistance, etc. Nevertheless, Qualcomm it has not arrived in time and the team will still move with the Snapdragon 801.
LG G3: the best specifications of the moment
Although the Snapdragon in general have shown a brutal performance from the 400 (Moto G) to the 801, the doubt resides in whether LG will have been able to optimize the chip so that the combination of that vast amount of pixels on your panel and a customization layer somewhat dense, they are as fluid as the G2 was.
The case of the Opp Find 7 is the only reference we have so far of a device with similar characteristics and a Snapdragon 801 with 2K resolutions. it is not so solvent like an 800 with 1080p. At the user level, yes, the difference will surely be negligible, if it is ever perceived.
Samsung and HTC Prime, the first?
If the news is finally confirmed and the LG G3 does not mount a Snapdragon 805, it seems that the Prime versions of the Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8 They would be in an unbeatable position to be the first to start using what was announced as Qualcomm's star processor for 2014. In a true generational leap in terms of performance, it would therefore be placed for the second half of the year.
