LG V10 vs LG G4: comparison

LG V10 LG G4

Although we have already brought you a few comparative in which we face the new phablet of LG with its main rivals, we still had to measure it to what is still the company's flagship: the LG G4. The duel is especially interesting because, even though the LG V10 It should be the "plus" model of the other (or at least that is how they presented it months ago when the project to launch a higher-level phablet was conceived), the truth is that it is perhaps not too far away either in size or in technical specifications. Let's check it by reviewing the Technical specifications of both: to what extent is the LG V10 al LG G4?

Integrated

The identifying marks of the high-end smartphones of LG (clean front, no home button, buttons on the back) are present on both and it doesn't seem like the LG V10 introduce any new elements in this regard, although there is a notable difference in the fact that in the new model there are no such obvious curvatures. There have also been changes in terms of materials: while the former opted to offer a premium model with a leather shell, with the latter it has opted to place the emphasis less on elegance and more on resistance, with a silicone shell. The new phablet also has a fingerprint reader.

Dimensions

Although there is a certain difference in size with regard to the screen, it seems difficult to justify with this alone the difference in total size between the two and that is easy to see with the naked eye (15,96x7,93 inch against 14,89x7,61 inch). The LG G4 it is also much lighter (192 grams against 155 grams). The difference in thickness, on the other hand, is more difficult to measure due to the curvature of the LG G4 (8,6 mm against 6,3-9,8 mm).

Screen

Indeed, the screen of the LG V10 is a little bigger, but not much more (5.7 inches against 5.5 inches) and the resolution is the same (2560 x 1440), which actually makes its pixel density somewhat lower (PPI 518 against PPI 538). Although it is not really related to image quality, but to consumption, it should also be mentioned that the new phablet has a secondary screen where we can see the time and notifications without having to turn on the main one.

Performance

The main difference in the performance section is in the RAM (4 GB against 3 GB) since the processor is still the Snapdragon 808 (six cores and maximum frequency of 1,8 GHz). Taking into account that there are no software differences here either, the normal thing would be that we were facing two very similar devices in terms of power and fluidity.

Storage capacity

Fortunately, the two devices continue to give us the option of expanding the memory externally via card. micro-SD, something that contributes to downplaying the internal memory with which each one arrives, although we cannot fail to point out that, in any case, this is double in the LG V10 that in the LG G4 (64 GB against 32 GB).

Cameras

The main difference in the cameras section is found on the front, where the LG V10 arrives with a dual camera with two sensors 5 MP, Whereas the LG G4 has a camera 8 MP. The technical specifications of the main camera, however, are identical (16 MP, 1 / 2.6 'sensor, optical image stabilizer, LED flash).

Autonomy

We will have to wait to see if the secondary screen of the LG V10 achieves its purpose and represents a significant energy saving, since it is the only factor that a priori seems to be able to make a significant difference in this section, taking into account that both have the same processor and the same resolution and a battery of identical capacity (3000 mAh).

Price

We do not yet know how much exactly the LG V10 in Europe, but we can assume that it will not be less than 600 euros, if we think that in the United States it will be sold for 600 dollars. The LG G4On the other hand, not only did it have a fairly attractive starting price, but over the months it is quite easy to find it even cheaper, reaching less than $450 at some dealers.
