As we told you this morning, Microsoft has decided to bet on the inexpensive devices for his debut commanding the Lumia range, and we are now going to compare what it offers us with the latest generation of the current king of the mid-range: the Moto G 2014. Por price y characteristics, actually, the Lumia 535 I'd be halfway between this and the Moto E, but we have finally opted for this confrontation by having a size more like. Is it worth it, however, to pay a little more to get the smartphone from Motorola? We hope this comparative help you decide.
Integrated
There are, to begin with, important differences in appearances, since the Lumia range, as you know, it has its own and very distinctive aesthetic that Microsoft It has been kept intact, with plastic housings in bright colors and straight lines. The Moto G 2014, for its part, it is a device with a more conventional design, with smoother lines.
Dimensions
Regarding the dimensions, we find two smartphones of very similar size, as we already anticipated: the Lumia 535 mide 14,02x7,24 inch and Moto G 2014 14,15x7,07 inch). The same happens with the weight, which is practically identical on the two smartphones: 146 grams against 149 grams). The Lumia 535 It is, however, noticeably finer (8,8 mm against 11 mm).
Screen
The two smartphones have a screen of the same size (5 inches) and, nevertheless, it is in this section where we find perhaps the greatest difference between the two. It is, more specifically, the difference in resolution, since while in the Lumia 535 it is only 540 x 960, in the Moto G 2014 is 720 x 1280. The pixel density is also, logically, higher on the smartphone from Motorola (PPI 220 against PPI 294).
Performance
Both smartphones mount processors of Qualcomm, although the M is a Snapdragon 400 and that of Lumia 535 un Snapdragon 200. The two processors, however, are of quad core and they have the same frequency: 1,2 GHz. They are also accompanied by the same amount of RAM: 1 GB.
Storage capacity
Absolute tie in the storage capacity section, since in both cases we find 8 GB hard disk, the essential minimum, actually, although both give us the option, yes, to expand the memory externally through micro-SD card.
Cameras
In the cameras sections, the distribution of points is imposed, and which of the two best suits us will depend fundamentally on the use we make mainly of the mobile cameras: for conventional use, the Moto G 2014 has a more powerful main camera (8 MP against 5 MP); for those who are fond of selfies, the Lumia 535 has a better front camera (5 MP against 2 MP).
Battery
While waiting for the independent autonomy tests, we have to settle for comparing the battery capacity of each of them, and the truth is that the difference is minimal: the battery of the smartphone of Microsoft is 1905 mAh and that of Motorola de 2070 mAh. It seems likely that due to the lower resolution of the screen the Lumia 535 also has a lower consumption and probably compensates or even exceeds that initial difference in capacity, but we will have to wait for the tests to confirm it.
Price
Here lies, as we said at the beginning, the appeal of these two smartphones, although the truth is that it seems that the balance will tip in favor of the Lumia 535 which, as announced today Microsoft, will be sold in Europe for 110 euros plus taxes, that is, for around 130 euros. The smartphone of Motorola, as you have seen, it is superior in technical specifications in some sections, but it also has a somewhat higher price: $179.
