Today we bring you a comparative that we really wanted to present, facing two high-end Android tablets, for those who do not want to make the leap to iOS or Windows, but also do not want to settle for nothing less than technical specifications of the highest level, something possible now thanks to Huawei y Samsung: MediaPad M5 10 vs. Galaxy Tab S3.
Integrated
We began to say very positive things about these two tablets already in the design section, since in both cases we have premium materials (metal for the Huawei tablet and glass and metal for the Samsung one), fingerprint reader, USB port tip C and four stereo speakers with the Harman Kardon seal. Not only that, but both are accompanied by their own stylus, although in the case of the MediaPad M5 10 that will be only for the Pro version, which will also have an optional official keyboard, like the Galaxy Tab S3.
Dimensions
In the dimensions section, you do have to tip the balance a bit more on the side of the tablet. Samsung, because it is true that part of its advantage is explained by having a smaller screen, but even so the optimization that the Koreans did is excellent and difficult to match: Galaxy Tab S3 not only is it more compact (25,87x17,81 inch against 23,73x16,9 inch) but also considerably lighter (498 grams against 429 grams) and finer (7,3 mm against 6 mm).
Screen
As we just discussed, the MediaPad M5 10 has the advantage of arriving with a significantly larger screen (10.8 inches against 9.7 inches), but it is not the only difference to take into account, with positive points for both parties: the tablet of Huawei has a higher resolution (2560 x 1600 against 2048 x 1536), while that of Samsung it boasts excellent image quality (in terms of contrasts, colors, etc.) thanks to its fantastic Super AMOLED panels. A last detail that distinguishes them is the aspect ratio used, with the former betting on the classic 16:10 of Android tablets (optimized for video playback) and the Galaxy Tab S3 using the 4: 3 typical of the iPad (optimized for reading).
Performance
Although in the multimedia section they are outstanding, one of the characteristics that really makes these two tablets stand out compared to most Android at the moment is that they arrive with processors of a much higher level than what we are used to seeing (Kirin 960 eight core to 2,1 GHz against Snapdragon 820 from four nuclei to 2,15 GHz). The two accompany them, in addition, 4 GB RAM memory. One point in favor of MediaPad M5 10, in any case, it is to arrive already with Android Oreo, although if there is a tablet (other than Google) that we can trust that it will receive that update, it is the Galaxy Tab S3.
Storage capacity
In the storage capacity section we will not find differences if we look at the standard models, since in both cases we have 32 GB internal memory and the option to expand them externally via card micro-SD. Cameras

Autonomy

However, you have to think that with a smaller screen, with a somewhat lower resolution and with the help of the AMOLED panels, it is to be expected that the consumption of the Galaxy Tab S3 be also less.
MediaPad M5 10 vs Galaxy Tab S3: comparison and price balance
We are not going to be wrong if we bet on either of these two tablets in any case (as long as we are willing to pay to get a good Android tablet), but there are some details that can allow us to refine our choice, such as the different materials used. Super AMOLED panels that we will be able to enjoy in the Galaxy Tab S3 or the bigger screen and getting Android Oreo from the MediaPad M5 10.
What makes the duel even more interesting is that both are very interesting options right now also thinking about the price, because the MediaPad M5 10 is going to launch from $400 ($500 if we are interested in the version with M Pen) and the Galaxy Tab S3 It's showing up lately around $550 and even below that figure, with the S Pen included. It must be borne in mind, that yes, that the tablet of Huawei is recently presented and although this manufacturer does not usually take long to bring its new devices to stores, we will still have to wait to be able to get hold of it (and in that time it is possible that we will find the tablet of Samsung even cheaper).
