Although those of Microsoft are still the great reference in the field of professional tablets with Windows, the competition for the new Miix 720 goes way beyond the Surface Pro 4, starting with the Galaxy TabPro S, with which we are going to measure it today in our comparative de Technical specifications. Logically, the fact that it has been on the market for some time makes the tablet Samsung at a certain disadvantage but, on the other hand, it has in its favor being available with more affordable prices now. Is it worth waiting and paying something more for the tablet of Lenovo? We look forward to helping you decide.
Integrated
Regarding the design, we find, as usual in this field, with two tablets with premium materials and great finishes and with quite classic lines, although it can be seen that the tablet of Samsung it is somewhat more stylized. One point in favor of the tablet LenovoHowever, it is having a rear support that allows us to hold it vertically even without a keyboard and that gives us a wider variety of degrees of inclination from which to choose to work more comfortably when we have it resting on the table.
Dimensions
If we compare the dimensions of both, it is quite easy to verify that, indeed, the Galaxy TabPro S is much more stylized, being clearly more compact (29,2x21 inch against 29,03x19,98 inch), but above all much finer (8,9 mm against 6,3 mm) and light (780 grams against 690 grams).
Screen
The difference in dimensions between the two tablets is even more commendable considering that it has an identical screen size (12 inches) and the same aspect ratio (3: 2, halfway between the most common 16:10 on Android and 4: 3 on the iPad). The tablet of Lenovo would, however, have an advantage in terms of resolution (2880 x 1920 against 2160 x 1440).
Performance
Also in the performance section, the Miix 720, which will be available up to a Intel Core i7 seventh generation and 16 GB RAM memory, an option that we do not have available in the Galaxy TabPro S, neither in terms of the processor nor the RAM (with a maximum of 8 GB).
Storage capacity
Although both have a card slot micro-SD, the storage capacity is another clear point in favor of the Miix 720, which is going to be sold with up to 1 TB internal memory, while the stop for the Galaxy TabPro S they are a lot more modest 256 GB (no less than the fourth part).
Cameras
Cameras are rarely worth considering when it comes to choosing a tablet and probably even less when it comes to much larger tablets to work with. However, if someone has a particular interest in this section, it should be noted that both offer us a main camera of 5 MP, but that the tablet of Samsung has an advantage when it comes to the front camera, his being 5 MP Also, while that of the tablet Lenovo is 1 MP.
Autonomy
Unfortunately, we can not say anything firm about which of the two we can expect greater autonomy, since the only thing we have at the moment is the tablet of Lenovo it is my own estimate (8 hours), without any reference even to the capacity of your battery. We will have to wait, therefore, to have data from tests of real use to draw conclusions.
Price
As we already anticipated, although the Galaxy TabPro S lags behind in most of the sections, it has in its favor being a much cheaper alternative: while the tablet of Lenovo has been announced as of U.S. dollar 1000 (we are still pending the translation of this figure into euros for our country), that of Samsung it can be found already below 900 euros even.
