En Acer seem to be quite happy with the initial demand for their Iconia B1-A71 and they are determined to continue expanding their tablet offering low-cost. The following devices that we will see in this line by the Taiwanese would arrive in the third quarter of the year with estimated prices of between 200 and 240 dollars.
Although the figures are modest compared to other giants in the sector, in Acer are more than satisfied with the 400.000 units of the Acer Iconia B1-A71 which are expected to have been sold globally one month after launch. As you will remember, this tablet was presented approximately 3 weeks ago in the CES de Las Vegas, and it looks like its good value for money (its price is around the $120) is succeeding in attracting a good number of buyers, which has encouraged Taiwanese to continue working in this line in the near future.
Of the new tablets that would follow the Iconia B1-A71 at the moment we do not have many details. We know, yes, that they will have Android as operating system and expect at least two models, with slightly larger sizes: one of 8 inches (the new trend in compact tablets) and another of 10 inches. Regarding the Technical specifications with which they would count, it is only possible to speculate. On Android Authority bet on improvements in the processor, replacing the chip of the Iconia B1-A71 by one of four cores, and in the RAM memory, perhaps reaching 1GB.
The normal thing, in any case, is that most of the features remain intact, so that prices can also remain low. The 8-inch tablet is expected to be priced at about U.S. dollar 200 and the 10 one of about U.S. dollar 240. Both would go on sale this summer.
