Imitating the strategy that performed so well for other large manufacturers, the new flagship of Huawei has arrived accompanied by a phablet version: at the presentation event of the new Huawei P9 taking place right now in London, the Huawei P9 Plus. What will distinguish this version besides a larger screen? We give you all the details.

Regarding the design, it seems that there will be no major differences between the standard version and the phablet version and that in both we can enjoy the great finishes that Huawei has accustomed us to, which has long made the metal housings a must-have feature of your high-end devices. But if the choice of materials has not surprised us, its aesthetics have, particularly its extremely reduced side frames, although Huawei He also wanted to show off the thinness of the device as a whole, emphasizing that the rear camera is fully integrated and nothing protrudes. It will not be missing either, of course, the fingerprint reader and the port USB type C. As for the colors in which it will be available, nothing out of the ordinary: gray, rose-gold, gold and white.
Technical Specifications
Entering the technical specifications, as you might suppose if you have been attentive to the teasers and leaks, all the prominence is being for the camera, which is clearly going to be the big star of these new Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus, thanks in large part to your association with Leica. And what has been the standout feature? Well, as it is becoming customary, the emphasis has been placed above all on the size of the pixels and their ability to capture more light. In this case we have pixels with a size of 1,25 micrometers, but that work at the level of 1,76 micrometers. The main camera is a dual camera 12 MP and the front of 8 MP.
The screen, as being the custom in the versions "Plus" reaches the 5.5 inches, but it seems that it will offer us the same resolution as the standard model, which would be Full HD (1920 x 1080), although it will have sensitivity to different pressure levels. They will also share the processor, which will be a Kirin 955, an evolution of its latest high-end processor, which maintains the eight cores, but whose frequency reaches a maximum of 2,5 GHz, and which will be accompanied by no less than 4 GB of RAM (and here again there is an advantage over the standard model, which is 3 GB). The operating system, of course, will be already Android Marshmallow.
Not only will it have a larger screen and a little more RAM, but, as expected, the phablet version will also have a battery with a somewhat higher capacity, reaching the 3400 mAh, a figure that does not impact as much as that of other phablets of the company (particularly the Mate 8), but if we take into account the thinness of the device, it is quite interesting. It will also have a technology of fast charge that with 10 minutes will give us up to 6 hours of conversation. Finally, the storage capacity will be 64 GB (expandable via micro-SD).
Price and Availability
We are still waiting for Huawei to officially announce the conditions for the launch of the Huawei P9 Plus in Europe, although it seems that we can expect it to hit stores before May. Greater uncertainty reigns with regard to the price, although some notes on its possible price in pounds, allow us at least to leave you an approximate figure, placing it around 700 euros, which would give it a substantial advantage over the "plus" versions of its competitors, who do not usually go below 800 euros. We will be attentive, in any case, to give you the final figure as soon as it is known.
