It had been more than a month since we had any leaked image related to iPad 5. Well, that has changed today. Photos of a bag that we offer below are consistent with the rumors that have been spreading in recent months that suggested that the new 9,7-inch tablet from Cupertino would have a really thin bezel and less thickness, in the image and likeness of the mini model.
The images come from the Vietnamese portal Tinhte.vt, which has already given a flash of information in the past that later showed that it was on the right track. Now we only have photos but at the beginning a video was posted that has later been made private.
In them we see an iPad case superimposed on a fourth generation model. We can extract that the rear camera has been shifted to the corner left of the device. The shape matches another leak that we had a long time ago of the case and some covers in which you could also see a hole in the middle for a microphone rear. This aspect was confirmed again in the images of another leak just five days later.
To these we should add other photos of a front panel that also came to light. Putting them all together we would have a robot portrait of the fifth generation of the Apple tablet.
What today's images show is also in line with what various experts in the field have said about the new device. It is bet that the iPad 5 will reduce its size thanks to its thin bezel, which will be 15% thinner and that will weigh 25% less than the fourth generation. If these forecasts are met, we would have a tablet only 8 mm thick and weighing 489 grams, that is, more in line with the times and with the competitors it has right now. Remember that Xperia Tablet Z is only 6,9 mm thick and 495 grams in weight.
